FATHER’S DAY BUFFET BRUNCHES AT PENANG SHANGRI-LA RESORTS

Father’s Day is a prominent Sunday celebrated worldwide and what better way to show dad you appreciation than by spending quality time in his company over a great buffet spread. Gather the whole family and head out to Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa and Golden Sands Resort for a scrumptious, three-hour buffet brunch.

At Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa, our chefs have prepared an international buffet to pamper palates. The buffet spread at the Market Café include fresh seafood, sushi, appetizers, salads, antipasto, exotic tandoori, sumptuous soups, pizzas, pasta, a carving station, hot western and oriental dishes, noodle station, dim sum and desserts.

There will be a fresh seafood spread of seasoned steamed prawns, yabbies, spanner crabs and slipper lobster. Main dishes include Irish Lamb Stew with Barley and Dark Ale, Oyster Mornay, Onion, Leek and Beef Bacon Quiche, Beef Kebab with Onion Jam, Stuffed Chicken Breast with Herbed Cream Sauce, Mustard Herb Crusted Fish Fillet. The carving station features roasted striploin with grilled vegetables and a selection of black pepper, horseradish sauce and mustard sauces. At the tandoori section, there is tandoori

chicken, tandoori dish tikka, chicken tikka masala, lamb achari, mushroom kadhai, dal maharani and vegetable pilau. Soup includes chicken congee and Malaysian mutton soup. The Asian main dishes include wok fried udon with black pepper, crispy fried prawsn and bisnori spices, mutton in red curry sauce, Malay style chicken cooked in black soya sauce, braised fish fillet with taro, chilli crab and wok tossed Asian vegetables.

Desserts include red velvet cheese cake, black forest cake, strawberry flan, chocolate moist cake, tiramisu, chocolate truffle bavaroise, bread pudding with cranberry and vanilla sauce and cakes decorated with Marvel Comic heroes. There will also be a Penang shaved ice stall (ice kacang), fruit skewers and chocolate fountain.

Activities for Father’s Day at Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa includes the “Superheroes” Contest. Fathers and sons who are taking part in this contest are required to dress as their favourite superhero at the buffet. There are fun prizes to be won on the spot. Fathers and sons participating in this contest are requested to register at the Spice Market Café counter and be dressed to the theme.

Spice Market Café Father’s Day Buffet Brunch is available on Sunday, 15 June, 2014 from 12:00noon to 3:00pm. Price: RM 128++ (adult) RM 64++ (child). Please call 04-888 8788 for reservations.

Golden Sands Resort’s chefs will also come up with a menu that will treat dad to the best buffet at a value-added price. The buffet includes roasted chicken with rosemary gravy, chicken murtabak with pratha and condiments, beef rendang, lemon chicken, fish assam pedas, braised beef meatballs with cheese, stir fried prawns with oats, bean curd with oyster sauce and grilled herb sausages. Soup includes crabmeat and sweet corn with assorted bread rolls. Salads include local Malaysian herb salads like kerabu squid, acar

rampai and salads like Granny Smith coleslaw, Caesar salad, German potato salads with crispy bacon, chicken sausage and bell pepper salad and chicken and pineapple salad. There will also be a noodles and pasta station, fruit crepe with condiments and a Chinese noodle stall. Desserts include French pastries, a Father’s Day cake, hot and cold desserts, ice cream potong, cupcakes, doughnuts and assorted sliced fruits.

Golden Sands Resort’s Father’s Day Brunch will be held at the Garden Café on Sunday, 15 June, 2014 from 12:00noon to 3:00pm. Price: RM 62++ (adult) RM 31++ (child – 6 to 11 years old). For reservations, call 04-886 1911.
