XUAN XIN RESTAURANT, QUEENSBAY MALL

March 5, 2013 by StrawberrY Gal

Xuan Xin Restaurant is finally landed in Queensbay Mall after the success of its opening in Gurney Plaza. The restaurant is located at the north wing of the mall which is just above Maybank.I had dined before the outlet which is in Gurney Plaza which turns to disappointment but when sis recommended this outlet, I was slightly hesitated to visit them again.

The restaurant is quite packed since it is a busy weekends and we are being lucky to get a sitting place there. The restaurant is simply cozy in its environment and with the fast service to us. We are being held with menu where they had set menu for 2 and even for family. Besides, the set menu, customer can opt to order some ala-carte dishes as well.

We had made an order of a 4 pax dinner meal set and added a dish from the ala-carte menu. The 4 pax set meals comes with soup of the day, a seasonal vegetable, 3 types of dish from their menu and also 4 rice.

Soup of the Day

Soup of the Day
Taste: 3/5

Sauteed Prawns with Dry Curry Paste brings a light spiciness on the prawns. The prawns is not too fresh and the dry curry paste made a great mix with the prawns. The dish comes with about 6 prawns with it and the taste of the dried small prawns which is being stir fried with it does give a umph in the dish.
Taste: 3/5

Next we had the Crispy Chicken Cube with Thousand Island Dressing is being served in a small portion which is just nice for 2-3 pax. The Crispy Chicken Cubes is tender in the meat and the mix of the Thousand Island Sauce which brings the combination of the light soury and sweet taste.
Taste: 3/5

Sauteed Squids With Black Bean Sauce is one of my favorites. The squids are well stir fried with the black bean sauce and the squids are freshly served as well. The bites of the squids are chewy and tangy significantly shows the freshness of the squids. It is well fried with the black bean sauce where the taste of light spiciness and sweetness is there in the dish itself.
Taste: 4/5

Seasonal Vegetables
Taste: 3/5

Not to forget, we had the Sauteed Hong Kong Crispy Noodles with Seafood. The yee mee are being deep fried and then it adds with the gravy on top. It is then being served with the scrumptious crispy prawns on top of it with the vegetables together. The prawns are fresh and the combination of the crispy noodles with the seafood and the gravy is really superb and I am falling in love with it.
Taste : 4/5
Price: RM 16.80

Papaya Milk
Taste : 4/5
Price: RM 5.50
