Starhill Gallery Delivers the Punch on Athleisure with “The Art of Muay Thai” on Bintang Steps

June 28, 2018 by StrawberrY Gal

As the trendsetter in Kuala Lumpur’s fashion, art and lifestyle scene, Starhill Gallery catches up with athleisure, one of the global trends dominating the runways and  high street fashion, by organising its first-ever “The Art of Muay Thai” event on the Bintang Steps along Jalan Gading on 29 June 2018 at 6.00pm. Starting from this inaugural event, Starhill Gallery in partnership with swanky European bakery Le Petit Rococo Café located at the Bintang Steps will host a series of health and fitness events  to inspire the inner athlete of shoppers and customers, and to promote the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle for everyone.
Collaborating with Kuala Lumpur’s popular mixed martial arts gym, Monarchy MMA, the first installment of “The Art of Muay Thai” is a free-for-public session on intense self-defence training using kicks, punches, elbow and knee strikes in a variety of fight combinations inspired by the art of Thai boxing.  The outdoor training class is organised as an enthusiastic nod to the upcoming and highly-anticipated bout between WBA Welterweight World Champion Matthysse Lucas from Argentina and five-time World Champion, Filipino legend Manny Pacquiao to be held in Kuala Lumpur on 15 July 2018.
“The Art of Muay Thai” participants can look forward to be trained under the expert tutelage of Pro MMA fighter Conrado Furlan from Brazil.  A seasoned fighter with a professional fighting experience since the year 2010, Furlan have since made 32 fights, winning two title belts at the prestigious I-1 World Muay Thai Championships in Hong Kong. Skilled trainers from Monarchy MMA will also be present during the training with Furlan to impart an all-encompassing approach to the close-combat art during the one-hour session.

For a post-training pick-me-up, participants will be offered complimentary coffee, courtesy of Le Petit Rococo Café. In the future, customers of Starhill Gallery can look forward to more exciting events beyond health and fitness to be held along the Bintang Steps.
For more information and to sign-up, please contact Monarchy MMA at 03- 2201 1202 and Starhill Gallery at 03-2782 3843. Check out the real-time updates on Starhill Gallery’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/starhillgallery/ or Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/starhillgallery/.
