Double Cheese Please at The Campus Ampang: Big Burgers, Double Cheese and Milkshake Bliss

October 21, 2026 by StrawberrY Gal

Some days, the craving is very specific: a big, juicy burger, plenty of melted cheese and an indulgent milkshake on the side. If that sounds like your kind of comfort food, Double Cheese Please at The Campus Ampang deserves a place on your makan list.

Previously known as Underground Burger, this burger spot brings together a tempting selection of beef, chicken and fish burgers, with a little something for younger diners too. The name alone sets the mood for a meal built around generous stacks, bold flavours and the simple pleasure of a good cheeseburger.

For me, the appeal of a burger feast is having a few different combinations to explore—and a sweet sip waiting between bites. With classics, a cauliflower twist and three milkshake flavours to choose from, there is plenty here to tempt an enthusiastic appetite.

Old School Smash: Double Beef, Double Cheese, Plenty to Love

The Old School Smash is where I would start. With double Angus beef patties and double cheese, it brings together the familiar flavours that make a cheeseburger such a dependable craving. The beef delivers that juicy, savoury richness, while the melted cheese adds another layer of indulgence. It is a generous combination, with the beef-and-cheese pairing firmly at the centre of every bite.

Then come the gherkins, bringing a sharp, tangy lift that balances the richness beautifully. That little contrast keeps the burger lively and makes the whole stack feel more rounded.

If this is your first visit and you want an introduction to the menu, the Old School Smash is an easy starting point. Sometimes, double beef and double cheese are all the convincing you need.

The 60/40: A Cheeseburger with a Cauliflower Twist

For a more unusual combination, The 60/40 brings together double beef patties and cauliflower smash, giving this burger a character of its own

There is plenty of flavour in the stack. House sesame and spicy sauces add nuttiness and a touch of heat, while double cheese, lettuce and gherkins complete the combination. The cheese brings richness, the lettuce adds freshness, and the gherkins provide that welcome tang.

The cauliflower smash is what makes this one especially intriguing. Paired with the beef and sauces, it gives diners another way to enjoy a generously layered cheeseburger.

If you enjoy a little heat and like exploring different burger combinations, this is one to keep an eye on when ordering.

Big Bird: Calling All Fried-Chicken Lovers

A good chicken burger has its own loyal following, and Big Bird gives those diners something substantial to look forward to.Featuring chicken deep-fried in-house, the burger comes layered with coleslaw, cheese, relish and lettuce. It is a hearty combination, bringing together the savoury appeal of fried chicken with a mix of fresh, tangy and creamy elements.

The coleslaw adds a welcome crunch, while the relish lifts the flavours and the cheese supplies an extra helping of richness. There is plenty going on in the stack, making it an appealing choice for anyone whose eyes go straight to the chicken burgers on a menu.

Big Splash: Make Room for the Fish Burger

The Big Splash adds a seafood option to the feast with a freshly made fish burger.

It is a tempting pick when you are in the mood for fish, and a useful addition to a group order if everyone wants to explore a different part of the menu. With beef, chicken and fish covered, there is room for everyone to follow their own burger craving.

Junior Bites: Something for the Little Ones

For families ordering together, Junior Bites keeps things simple with chicken tenders served with fries. It is a familiar combination for younger diners and a handy option when the adults are working their way through the bigger burger stacks. The little ones get their own meal to enjoy, making it easier to put together an order for the whole table.

Milkshake Bliss: Strawberry, Matcha or Chocolate?

A milkshake alongside a burger always makes the meal feel a little more indulgent, and the choices here are strawberry, matcha and chocolate.

Strawberry is the pick for a fruity, sweet sip, while chocolate brings that familiar dessert-like appeal. Matcha offers an earthy flavour for those who enjoy a different direction with their sweet treats.

I would make room for a milkshake from the start. There is something especially enjoyable about alternating between a savoury, cheesy burger and a sweet sip—and choosing your flavour is part of the fun.

A Burger Stop for Your Ampang Food List

Double Cheese Please at The Campus Ampang has the makings of a satisfying comfort-food outing, with each burger offering a different reason to order.

For a first visit, I would begin with the Old School Smash, add The 60/40 if sharing with someone who enjoys an interesting combination, and choose a milkshake to complete the meal. Chicken and fish lovers have their own picks in Big Bird and Big Splash, while Junior Bites gives younger diners something familiar to enjoy.

Bring your burger appetite and leave a little room for a sweet finish.

Come for the double cheese. Make room for the milkshake.
