KL RESTAURANT WEEK 2013 INTRODUCES GASTRONOMIC EXPERIENCES OF AFFORDABLE PRICES

September 12, 2013 by StrawberrY Gal

The first edition of KL Restaurant Week has finally arrived in Malaysia! Organized by KL Restaurant Week Sdn Bhd, this weeklong gastronomic event will take place from 4th October to 11th October 2013. It has received overwhelming support from the restaurant and culinary scene, with more than 45 of the city’s highly acclaimed restaurants participating.

The Restaurant Week concept has taken the world of foodies by storm. It started in New York City more than 20 years ago, and is the brainchild of two restaurateurs who wanted to create an event to encourage the city’s dining scene. Since then, Restaurant Weeks have taken place across the globe, from USA, China, Puerto Rico, Japan to Hong Kong.

The modus operandi of the KL Restaurant Week is simple. Over 45 restaurants, including finedining establishments helmed by renowned chefs, will offer special lunch and dinner menus  during the week. Starting from RM20 nett (for a two-course lunch) and RM50 nett (for a 3-course dinner), these often feature the restaurants’ signature or new dishes.

The line-up of restaurants includes stellar names such as the award-winning Chinese restaurant, Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant at PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur. Diners can also savour the refined Thai dishes from Rama V Fine Thai Cuisine, recommended by Malaysia Tatler’s Best Restaurant Guide for several years. The culinary brigade from Tanzini, lauded with the ‘Top 5 Best Western Cuisine Chef’ title by Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards 2010-2012, has also prepared a spectacular menu, inspired by the fresh food movement.

Each restaurant has set aside a limited number of seats offering their Restaurant Week menus, and will operate on a first-come-first-served basis. Following the tradition of Restaurant Week, reservations can only be made online via www.klrestaurantweek.com. A booking fee of RM 2 per seat applies. Direct reservations to the restaurants will not be possible. Reservations for this highly anticipated event on www.klrestaurantweek.com will kickstart on 9th September. Reservations will close on 29th September 2013.
