Hard Rock Hotel Penang Rocks the Mid-Autumn Festival with “The Broadcast Box”

September 29, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

This Mid-Autumn Festival, Hard Rock Hotel Penang unveils an inventive twist on tradition with the launch of The Mooncake Lounge and its star highlight — The Broadcast Box, a limited-edition collectible inspired by vintage radios. Designed to blend nostalgia with modern craftsmanship, this unique keepsake embodies Hard Rock’s iconic spirit of creativity, music, and togetherness.

Only 500 sets of The Broadcast Box are available, each priced at RM338 nett per box (excluding delivery). With its rare availability and distinctive design, the box is set to be one of the most sought-after mooncake collections of the season.

Design Inspiration – A Nod to Vintage Radios

The Broadcast Box draws its inspiration from classic retro radios, reimagined as a keepsake mooncake box. Its nostalgic design pays homage to an era when radios connected communities, shared music, and carried stories across generations — a perfect metaphor for the Mid-Autumn Festival, which celebrates reunion and shared moments.

The collectible is more than just packaging; it’s a piece of art that guests can treasure long after the festival. The design features four decorative buttons, each engraved with Hard Rock’s famous mottos:

• Love All – Serve All

• Take Time to Be Kind

• All is One

• Save the Planet

This thoughtful touch captures Hard Rock’s philosophy of inclusivity, kindness, unity, and sustainability, making the Broadcast Box both meaningful and memorable.

Halal-Certified Mooncakes – Modern Flavours, Reduced Sweetness

Inside each Broadcast Box are six halal-certified mooncakes, crafted with reduced sweetness to suit contemporary preferences. Each flavour is designed to bring something unique to the palate, balancing tradition with modern taste trends:

1. White Lotus – the timeless classic.

2. Pandan Lotus – fragrant and uniquely Malaysian.

3. Green Tea Lotus – earthy and aromatic, a nod to modern wellness.

4. Himalayan Pink Salt Rich Chocolate – indulgent and bold, pairing sweet with savoury.

5. Osmanthus Oolong Tea – floral and aromatic, inspired by oriental tea culture.

6. Thai Milk Tea Lotus – creamy, exotic, and delightfully nostalgic.

This diverse mix ensures there is something for everyone — from purists who love traditional lotus paste to adventurous foodies seeking new flavour experiences.

Lucky Draw Prizes – More Reasons to Celebrate

Each Broadcast Box comes with a serialised lucky draw ticket, making the experience even more exciting. Winners will be announced on Hard Rock Hotel Penang’s social media platforms at the end of October 2025.

Prizes include:

• 🏆 Grand Prize: A 2-day, 1-night stay in the King Suite with exclusive Rock Royalty Lounge access.

• 🌊 Additional Prizes: Multiple Seaview Deluxe Room getaways, perfect for family or romantic escapes.

This element adds not only value but also fun — extending the festive joy beyond the dining table.
