Thai Moment Upstate Bangsar: Authentic Thai Flavors

February 5, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

In 2016, the encounter of two ordinary Thai partners, Mike Anonchai Karnruang and Tan Supachaya Neerachakul, led to the inception of Thai Moment by Thai Essential Cuisine Sdn Bhd, specializing in Muslim-friendly cuisine. Inspired by a simple idea sparked by a Thai TV advertisement about the love between a daughter and mother, the vision of “Thai Food is home” materialized, marking the establishment of the very first Thai Moment in Malaysia. Recently, a new chapter unfolded as they expanded to Bangsar.

Nestled on the first floor, Thai Moments welcomes you with a modern ambiance that is sure to captivate.

Starter: Mieng Kam Bai Bua – Lotus and Betel Leaves

Commencing our gastronomic adventure, we delved into the exquisite Mieng Kam Bai Bua. A must-try, the Mieng Kam here offers an aromatic fusion of Lotus and Betel Leaves. The experience is enhanced by the Sweet Mieng Kam Sauce, infusing delightful flavors, and a hint of spiciness from the chili padi.

Appetizer : Yam Pla Duk Foo – Crispy Catfish Mango Salad

A crowd-pleaser, the Crispy Catfish Mango Salad, or Yam Pla Duk Foo, is a delightful choice. The mango salad delights with its perfect balance of hot spiciness, complemented by the side-worthy crispy catfish that elevates the overall flavor profile.

Entrée: Tom Yam Nam Khob – Signature Red Tom Yam Soup

The Signature Red Tom Yam Soup stands out as a star entrée. Served piping hot, this Tom Yam delights with its rich and generous ingredients, offering a flavorful and satisfying experience.

Main Course

Welo Chunk Crab Meat Thai Fried Rice:

Taking the Thai Fried Rice up a notch, the Welo Chunk Crab Meat Thai Fried Rice introduces the indulgent flavor of chunky crab meat. This variation adds a layer of richness to the dish, elevating the overall experience.

Pla Ka Phong Thod Rad Prik – Deep Fried Siakap with Thai Chilli Sauce:

Prepare for an addictive and crispy delight with the Deep Fried Siakap. The siakap is expertly deep-fried to perfection, providing a crunchy texture with every bite. What makes it truly exceptional is the Thai Chilli Sauce that generously coats the fish, enhancing its flavor profile.

Gai Kra Pao – Stir Fried Hot Basil Leaves Minced Chicken

For basil lovers, the Stir Fried Hot Basil Leaves with Minced Chicken is a recommended choice. The minced chicken is stir-fried with aromatic basil leaves, creating a flavorful and satisfying dish. While the dish is delightful, a preference for a stronger hint of basil is noted.

Phad See Sa Hai – Stir Fried “4 Heavenly King”:

Venture into the world of stir-fried vegetables with the Phad See Sa Hai. This dish features a medley of “4 Heavenly King” vegetables, creating a colorful and nutritious ensemble that delights the palate.

Tao Hu Ka Ta Ronn – Sizzling Japanese Tofu with Minced Chicken and Prawn:

The Sizzling Tofu takes center stage with its flavorful combination of Japanese tofu, minced chicken, and prawn. Served on a hotplate, this dish not only tantalizes the taste buds but also showcases the art of perfectly crafted tofu.

Khao Neaw Ka Nuum Kab Ma Moung – Mango & Jackfruit with Sticky Rice:

Indulge in the perfect blend of sweetness and texture with the Mango & Jackfruit with Sticky Rice. This dessert is not only a visual delight but also a taste sensation. The sticky rice provides a comforting base for the luscious mango and jackfruit, creating a harmonious combination that is both beautiful and addictively delicious.

Pai Lin Ka Ti – Royal Blue Sapphire Water Chestnut in Coconut Milk:

Experience a feast for the eyes and the palate with the Royal Blue Sapphire Water Chestnut in Coconut Milk. Using the natural blue pea flower, this dessert not only boasts a stunning appearance but also offers a delightful crunch from the water chestnuts. The coconut milk adds a creamy richness, striking the perfect balance of flavors. Not overly sweet, this dessert is a refreshing and satisfying conclusion to the Thai culinary journey at Thai Moment in Bangsar.

As for drinks , we enjoyed their Fantasy Phuket and the Coconut Americano.

Overall, it brings you with the nice and cosy ambience for dining. Love the vibes and the food here.
