 Dancing Fish, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Bangsar Shopping Center, continues to shine as it celebrates its second consecutive year of receiving the prestigious Michelin Bib Gourmand award. This recognition is a testament to the restaurant’s unwavering commitment to culinary excellence and its ability to consistently deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Dancing Fish’s dedication to Malay-Indo cuisines has set it apart as a go-to destination for those seeking an authentic and delightful dining experience. The restaurant’s commitment to quality ingredients, expert culinary techniques, and a welcoming ambiance has garnered acclaim not only from patrons but also from the prestigious Michelin Guide. 

The Bib Gourmand award is a significant accolade that reflects Dancing Fish’s ability to consistently deliver outstanding culinary creations, showcasing the rich and diverse flavors of Malay-Indo cuisines. Whether it’s the artful presentation of dishes, the use of fresh and locally sourced ingredients, or the inviting atmosphere that envelopes patrons, Dancing Fish has mastered the art of creating memorable dining moments.

Our gastronomic adventure commenced with the enticing Appetiser Platter, a delightful ensemble showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to flavor and quality.

Appetiser Platter

The Appetiser Platter featured a symphony of flavors, each element carefully crafted to perfection:

1. Chicken Satay: The skewers of chicken were flawlessly grilled, imparting a delightful smoky essence  together with the tenderness of the meat. Accompanied with their sauce. 

2. Peeps Goreng Sambal Match: This dish presented a delightful marriage of crispy peeps and spicy sambal match, creating a symphony of textures and flavors. The crispiness of the peeps combined with the kick of the sambal match provided a harmonious and satisfying experience.

3. Salad Mangga Mangga: Acting as a palate cleanser, this salad added a burst of vibrancy to the overall dining experience.

4. Cumi-Cumi Goreng: A treat for seafood enthusiasts, the deep-fried calamari, known as Cumi-Cumi Goreng, boasted a golden and crispy exterior, revealing a tender and succulent interior. The delightful contrast in textures made this dish a standout on the appetizer platter.

Soft Shell Crab Kerabu Asam Laksa 

The Soft Shell Crab Kerabu Asam Laksa emerges as a true star, captivating taste buds with its exquisite composition. The dish brings you with the great combination of both the deep fried sofshell crab together with the vibrant pomegranate crunch, and a medley of fresh herbs and vegetables. The soft shell crab, meticulously deep-fried to golden perfection, offers a crispy exterior that gives way to succulent, flavorful flesh within. It’s a journey for the senses, where each crunch resonates with the expertise of the chef. Love this so much.

Dancing Fish

The spotlight shifted to the main event—an exquisite masterpiece that goes by the name of the Deep-Fried Ikan Nila. The presentation of the deep-fried Ikan Nila at Dancing Fish is nothing short of an artful expression. Mimicking the fish’s graceful movements, the elegant display adds a theatrical touch to the dining experience. 

Picture the fish, resplendent in its golden coat, poised as if caught mid-dance. The entire scene unfolds like a ballet, inviting diners into a world where culinary expertise meets visual splendor. The golden exterior gives way to the moist and flavorful fish within, and the crunch of the bones becomes a rhythmic accompaniment. In every golden, crispy bite, Dancing Fish manages to capture the essence of its eponymous dish, creating not just a meal but a masterpiece that dances on the palate and lingers in the heart. Sides with the three delightful side options of Sambal Dabu Abu, Mango Kerabu and the Sambal Kedondong.

The Cabe Taucu Pedas—Ikan Seabass

Our piscatorial journey at Dancing Fish reached new heights with the Cabe Taucu Pedas—Ikan Seabass, an extraordinary creation that tantalized our taste buds with a fiery and flavorful spectacle. This dish featured a grilled Seabass adorned with a bold combination of deep-fried dried chili, bean paste, coriander seed, peanuts, garlic, and spring onion—a true piscatorial symphony for the senses.

The grilled Seabass, a canvas of succulent, flaky fish, became a testament to the culinary prowess at Dancing Fish. Its delicate flavors were not overshadowed but rather elevated by the fiery blend of spices. As the first bite unfolded, a medley of sensations emerged—spiciness from the dried chili, the earthiness of bean paste, the aromatic touch of coriander seed, and the delightful crunch of peanuts. We love it so much!

Lamb Shank Bakar with Rendang Gravy 

Lamb Shank Bakar with Rendang Gravy takes center stage. The gastronomic masterpiece that showcases the artistry of expert grilling and the infusion of aromatic rendang flavors. It is so tender and succulent. The meat is meticulously grilled and adorned with a rich coconut gravy that elevates the entire culinary experience.

 

Kailan with Garlic, Mushroom, and Lily Bulb.

We ends with the Kailan with Garlic, Mushroom, and Lily Bulb. As the plate graced our table, the vibrant green of the Hong Kong Kailan immediately caught the eye, promising a burst of freshness. The dish begins with the artful wok-frying of these tender greens, ensuring they retain their youthful crispness and vibrant color. The freshness of the Kailan, the earthiness of the mushrooms, and the crunch of the lily bulb collectively contribute to a well-rounded and satisfying vegetable medley.

No culinary journey is truly complete without a sweet serenade to the senses

Coconut Panna Cotta with Golden Nangka Goreng

Love the  creamy coconut panna cotta took center stage, that comes with the  velvety texture. As the spoon delved into the delicately set panna cotta, it revealed a harmonious pairing with golden nangka goreng. The golden nuggets of fried jackfruit offered a delightful contrast, adding a tropical twist to the velvety coconut base. Each spoonful was a luscious realm, where the creaminess of the panna cotta and the golden crunch of nangka goreng danced in sweet harmony.

Ice Kacang

The Ice Kacang comes simply  refreshing dessert. A mountain of shaved ice formed the canvas, adorned with sweet syrups and an assortment of toppings. The medley of flavors and textures—crunchy peanuts, sweet corn, vibrant jellies, and more—created a symphony of tastes with every spoonful. 

This is definitely worth the visit. Is time to head to Dancing Fish now
