As the name suggests, PYRO, derived from the Greek word for ‘fire’, is already generating considerable heat in the local dining scene. While the restaurant landscape in the area is diverse and competitive, PYRO looks set to bring something fiery and fresh to the table.
Under the guidance of a skilled chef, who has finely crafted their culinary expertise at Burnt End, a renowned Michelin-starred restaurant in Singapore, PYRO presents a delightful fusion of East and West cuisines.
The Ambience
Stepping into PYRO, one is immediately transported to a world where every detail, from the dim lights to the rustic decor, has been meticulously planned. . The gray walls, reminiscent of smoldering coals, coupled with the well-curated decor pieces, set the mood for the evening, making it perfect for romantic dinners, important business meetings, or just a night out with friends
The Food
Fresh Oyster (RM 28 per piece)
began our meal with their impeccably presented fresh oysters topped with the signature sauce.
Grissini with Anchovies Cream (RM 20)
Continuing the culinary journey, the next course brought us Grissini with Anchovies Cream. This exquisite creation consisted of a delicate, paper-thin sourdough cracker, generously adorned with a luscious anchovies cream that, to my palate, bore a delightful resemblance to a scrumptious tuna spread. The finishing touch was a garnish of fresh spring onions, adding a burst of flavor and a touch of elegance to this uniquely crafted dish.
Beef Tartare with Potato Cake
From the very first glance, the Beef Tartare with Potato Cake at PYRO is a sight to behold. This dish, which combines two culinary classics, is presented with such artistry that it instantly captures your attention. The lush ruby-red hue of the beef contrasts beautifully with the golden-brown potato cake, making it as much a feast for the eyes as for the palate. Prepared using premium cuts, the beef’s natural flavors are enhanced by a medley of carefully selected herbs and seasonings. The addition of caviar on top adds a touch of luxury and an explosion of briny flavor with every bite.
Leek & Hazelnut (RM 25)
With a delightful contrast between soft leeks and crunchy hazelnuts, this vegetable-centric plate offered a straightforward yet delectable combination of tastes and textures that catered to both health-conscious diners and those seeking a satisfying dish.
King Crab & Garlic Brown Butter (RM 280)
The King Crab & Garlic Brown Butter, priced at RM 280, offered a flavorful experience, though it did come at a steep price. The king crab itself was well-prepared and infused with delightful flavors. However, one challenge I encountered was dealing with the crab shell, which can be a bit tricky.
Mayura Signature ( MB9) ( 1g/RM2)
The beef boasts high marbling, offering rich, buttery, and nutty flavors.
Crème Brulee (RM 20)
The Crème Brûlée is an absolute must-try. Indulge in the velvety creamy custard beneath a delicate layer of caramelized sugar. It’s a delightful treat for your taste buds.
Fruit Pavlova (RM 35)
The Pavlova is also a delightful choice. It strikes a perfect balance of sweetness, and the fresh fruits on top add a refreshing twist to the dessert.
