Canton Boy @ MyTown : Awesome Halal Dim Sum

September 16, 2022 by StrawberrY Gal

Recently, while shopping at MyTown, we spotted a new place for dining. The restaurant by the name of Canton Boy had taken over the space of Parkson in MyTown making it a centrepiece in the mall.

With the right location, I quickly walk towards the restaurants and we found out that they are serving dim sums, and local delights. The food here is halal and it is best to go especially I am shopping with my Malay friends.

The restaurant brings you a vibrant interior and the space is so cosy, and yet the service is really good. When we are at the counter, the staff recommends their signatures and also shows us the menu. We are then recommended some of their signature items and what I love is the friendliness of the staff. We settled down and had our order of the dim sum selections and main courses.

The dim sum selection is indeed a vast one where they cover not only the Cantonese Dim Sum but you can have Shanghainese Dim Sum too. The menu not just having dim sum but they have more than that such as fried rice, chicken rice and many more.

We started off with our dim sum. One of their signatures must try here is their Siew Mai King and the Crystal Har Kao. They are so deliciously done and it just tastes alike what I have in my Chinese Restaurant. The siew mai is so pulpy and comes with chunks of prawns in it. The same goes for the har kao.

Other than that, they have the Scallop Dumpling which is also a good choice as well the skin is thin and the taste is flavourful.

The Green Shell Mussels with Garlic brings you the robust flavours of the garlic in it. It is fresh and yet very appetizing.

If you are those who prefer to enjoy some spicy bites, go for their Szechuan Spicy Wanton. It definitely boosts the flavours and aroma. Oh la la.. that’s so good!

Oh ya, the must-have is also the Shanghainese Dumpling which is so good. Served inside the dim sum basket, the serving comes pipping hot. Take them up and put them on the spoon and punch a bit small hole and enjoy the delicious sip of soup from the dumpling itself. Then add in the vinegar and some sliced ginger on top. That’s so good!

The wholesome meal does not just end here, we also try other selections from their menu such as their Salted Egg Lava Charcoal Bun which is Grace favourite. The bun comes with the creamy oozy Salted Egg. That’s marvellous.

Well, they do have stir-fried items like the Stir-Fried Radish. The Stir-Fried Radish is packed with flavours and added in with the kick of spice. Addictive!

One of my favourites is also their Salt & Pepper Drumlets which comes with light saltiness and spiciness in it. It is as good as it is and they are nicely done!

Asides, one can enjoy some stir-fried dishes like their Seafood Fried Rice which is really good. It is indeed well stir-fried and gives you the aromatic wok hei together with the generous ingredients in it.

And of course, their another signature which is their Chicken Rice. The Chicken Rice is simply delicious and you can enjoy the fragrant rice which is packed with aromatic and served with the tender juicy chicken with beansprouts and soup.

After the heavy meal, we ended with some sweet bites and we had the chendol. The portion comes generous.

If you are looking for delicious HALAL dim sum, is time to visit Canton Boy Now!
