Singapore extends Vaccinated Travel Lane to Malaysia

November 9, 2021 by StrawberrY Gal

Singapore announces the extension of the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) for Malaysia. From 29 November 2021 onwards, fully vaccinated travellers can now travel between Singapore’s Changi Airport and Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) or Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA 2) without having to serve a quarantine order or stay-at-home notice.

Malaysia joins the ranks of designated countries under the VTL scheme, including Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Germany, Canada, Denmark, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Finland, Sweden, the United Kingdom (UK), the United States of America (USA), Republic of Korea (ROK), and Switzerland. Malaysia is the second country in Southeast Asia after Brunei Darussalam to be included in the VTL scheme.

“The VTL scheme is a significant milestone to allow for the gradual resumption of travel between Singapore and Malaysia. Singapore stands ready to welcome the return of Malaysian travellers to the city with our tourism partners. Travellers can look forward to a new standard of travel tailored to your changing needs and new experiences filled with reinvented, fresh and innovative offerings that ignite your passion. When you’re ready, come reimagine your travel experience in Singapore.” said John Gregory Conceicao, Executive Director, Southeast Asia, Singapore Tourism Board.

Application Process and Requirements

As part of Singapore’s efforts to reopen borders safely, fully vaccinated Malaysian travellers looking to travel to Singapore via the VTL scheme can submit applications from 22 November 2021. For detailed steps and procedures including the latest requirements, travellers may refer to the https://safetravel.ica.gov.sg/arriving/overview

VisitSingapore Travel App

Travellers can download the VisitSingapore Travel Guide app via the App Store or Google Play, to optimise your experience, maximise your enjoyment, and navigate the city with ease, and gain access to endless possibilities in the palm of your hand. The SG Arrival Card (SGAC) e-Service is also available on the app, where visitors can electronically submit your arrival card up to three days before your trip to Singapore.

To safeguard public health in Singapore, all travellers entering Singapore must also comply with the prevailing health and safe management measures in Singapore.
