Samsung Seeks Unity and Positivity this Merdeka with the Malaysia Di Hatiku Campaign

August 17, 2021 by StrawberrY Gal

In a bid to reunite Malaysians and bring about positivity as the nation faces a challenging period, Samsung Malaysia Electronics today launched ‘Malaysia di Hatiku’, a Merdeka and Malaysia Day themed campaign in partnership with Universal Music Malaysia. The campaign features the release of the Malaysia Di Hatiku song and calls on Malaysians to share their wishes and desires for a hopeful and nation.

Merdeka and Malaysia Day are significant milestones that mark the nation’s development. As we approach these dates, the Malaysia Di Hatiku campaign seeks to rekindle the Malaysian Muhibbah spirit, especially given the current adversities many Malaysians are facing.

“The past year has seen Malaysians, and indeed the world, face unprecedented circumstances. Yet within this struggle is the opportunity for many of us to bring forth the ‘Malaysia Boleh’ spirit and goodwill. If music connects people, then love should be its message and we want Malaysians to share their love and be reminded of the possibilities that our nation can once more strive towards,” said Elaine Soh, Chief Marketing Officer of Samsung Malaysia Electronics.

The Malaysia Di Hatiku campaign will reach all Malaysians, across different generations, races and creed, urban or rural through the release of the music video and TikTok campaign.

Connecting Malaysians with Music

Universal Music Malaysia and Samsung have today, officially released the Malaysia Di Hatiku song, featuring the musical talents of  hip-hop artist Yonnyboii, Tabby from rising girl group Dolla and rappers Kmy Kmo and Luca Sickta.

Malaysia Di Hatiku is essentially a love song, but for one of the country. For as long as we live, Malaysians can count on loving their country as an essential part of our psyche. Therefore, through thick and thin, we will be there for our nation.

“Music is a human trait, one that we use to connect, to communicate, and to relate. With all that has happened this is an opportunity to bring in some positivity back to the community. As such we are pleased to be working once more with Samsung, not only in shining the spotlight on our local talents, but in working together to bring a positive change to the country, said Kim Lim, Managing Director of Universal Music Malaysia.

Malaysia Di Hatiku is now on all digital streaming platforms. To watch the official lyric video, do visit Universal Music Malaysia’s YouTube channel, available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9hbCRcY920

Calling all Malaysians to share their Love for Country

From 20 August until 2 September 2021, Malaysians can show their positive spirit in expressing their love for the country with the #MalaysiaDiHatiku campaign. The campaign calls for Malaysians to duet with artists Yonnyboii or Tabby, or if they feel like upping the challenge, battle rap it out with duo-rappers Kmy Kmo and Luca Sickta. Participants can then caption their videos with words of encouragement to other fellow Malaysians and include the hashtag #MalaysiaDiHatiku, and submit their video on TikTok.

The top three creative content that captures the spirit of Malaysia Di Hatiku will win one brand new Samsung Galaxy A32 each. The winners will be announced at the end of the campaign, which falls on Malaysia Day, 16 September 2021.
