NINETEEN80 Takeover at SkyBar, Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Calling all retro lovers! Enter a world of 80s and 90s themed fun on the 21 February as the Singapore based NINETEEN80 bar takes over SkyBar. The NINETEEN80 bar is a retro arcade bar and discotheque paying homage to all things 80s to 2000s. Enter a throwback world of old school arcade games, nostalgic cocktails with a twist and a funky line-up of DJ’s.

DJ Aurora

Aurora started off as a stalwart for the entertainment scene in Singapore, providing the marketing touch behind CE LA VI Singapore at the iconic Marina Bay Sands. Immersed and ignited, Aurora set foot on her own foray in music exploration. Her music selection is largely inspired by jazzy and soulful influences, organic sounds and melodic riffs, which manifests in a classy blend of house, nu disco, funk, soul and afro Latin. Aurora has made her mark on the decks at Singapore Cocktail Week, Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix’s premium Twenty3 Lounge, Beerfest, Neon Lights (Silent Disco), Strawberry Space Open Air, Tanjong Beach Club, COMO Dempsey, Straits Clan, Bar Rouge and Origin Bar at Shangri-La among others.

As Operations Cat at Phat Cat Collective, Yafith takes care of the nitty-gritty details of all the group’s consultancies and projects. Yafith A.Hamid have been in the entertainment scene since 1999. He has established himself as one of the pioneers of the Hip Hop music scene in Singapore.His strong network and following have seen him perform alongside world-renowned artists such as Lil’Jon, Far East Movement and Bruno Mars.

Through his strong network both local and internationally. Yafith has booked and hosted the likes of Laidback Luke, Roger Sanchez, Jazzy Jeff, Cash Money, Samanthan Ronson, Bassjackers, Gregor Salto and Bingo Players.
DJ OLLIE’ DES

The Singapore-born DJ Ollie’des has been helming decks all around the world with his expertise in scratching and beat-juggling. Igniting his love and flair for music, he realized his musical talent when he first learnt to play the drums as a teen. Today, he is the Entertainment Manager at NINETEEN80 and Pinball Wizard and a renowned veteran DJ in Singapore.

Over the year of spinning in the local circuit, DJ Ollie’des has established himself as one of the pioneers in Singapore’s Hip Hop scene, securing accolades to his name including a residency at nightclub Double O for seven years and clinching a finalist position in the DMC Singapore competition (2002 and 2005). He has toured the globe and made guest appearances at prominent venues in Australia and Taiwan, and was invited to spin at prestigious clubs such as Inside in Guangzhou, China, as well as be the opening act for legendary artiste, DJ Snake at Dream Festival Thailand in 2014.

DJ Joshua P

Joshua P started off as a disco mobile jockey in 1999, which naturally makes him a veteran hero in the local club scene, His love for music and versatility gave him an edge, which grabbed the attention of many local clubs in Singapore. Expect only the classiest of sounds when Joshua helms the decks, ranging from house, funk, soul, afro, disco, techno, house, drum and bass, dub, jazz and breaks.

He has played alongside local and international DJ’s such as Jose Padilla, Nightmares on Wax,Booka Shade, Sharam from Deep Dish, Stephane Pompougnac, Ramon Tapia, Wehbba, Satin Jackets, Wankelmut, AKA AKA, Yass and more.Joshua recently released his first EP, The Password Is on Soul Shift Music (USA). Described as mid-tempo minimal, deep, afrocentric slice of simplistic yet hypnotic tech-house.

SkyBar is located on level 33 at Traders Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, we offer guests cool drinks and intoxicating views in a very chic and cosmopolitan atmosphere. SkyBar’s contemporary setting provokes in guest an instant and irresistible desire to just chill-out.
