ALIYAA, BUKIT DAMANSARA

December 7, 2012 by StrawberrY Gal

ALiYaa is another place for delicious authentic Sri Lankan food which is located in the residential area at Bukit Damansara. The restaurant is just a few blocks away from Aria which is serving Italian Cuisine. ALiYaa means ‘elephant’ in Singhalese which it symbolises the beauty of culinary globalisation amidst a lush backdrop of modern day eating fuelled by a constant conveyor belt of comestibles..

The appetizers is bringing a great combination of few fried items with the great spices in it. The delights is simply crispy at the outside and juicy in the inside which make a great match with the sauces which is served together with it.
Price: RM23.00

String Hopper Kothu Chicken is where the steamed rice flour noodles chopped up into small pieces and it is being served with the pieces of chicken with it. The delights brings a special taste and it is also having the fluffy taste of it which is very good.
Price: RM 20.00

Something special to come along will be the the eggplant is being cut into small tiny slices and being deep fried. It is then being well served with the fried onions on top of it. The eggplant is quite crispy in the taste and it is also very appetizing as well.
Price: RM 8.00

Mutton Paal Poriyal is where the mutton is being well cooked slowly with the aromatic spices with it. The lamb serves a tender and juicy meat which brings a light spicness with it.
Price: RM 23.00

Colombo Styled Crab is one of the famous item there. The Crabs are huge and well cooked with the spices. The crabs brings the sweet taste due to the freshness of the crabs. It is indeed a great crab to have as well.
Price: RM 12.90/100 g

Plain String Hoppers is alike the Malaysian Style of Putu Mayam but this is even much more better. They are being served with their Coconut sambol which is a great match with it and the taste is just lovely and appetizing.
Price: RM 8.00

Dosra Roti is where the bread is being pan grilled with the frated coconut, onions and mild chili. It is really superb having this where it has the crispy texture with the light spiciness in it.
Price: RM 8.00

A creamy texture of curry is not forgotten to dine in Aliyaa. The Prawn Curry is absolutely well made and the prawns are being marinated with the blend of spices is being served to our plate is sinfully good and addictive. It is just lovely to take a taste of it.
Price: RM 23.00

– The Egg Apam-

– The Sweet Apam-

The Apam is also one of the highlights in the menu. They have a few version of the apam which is plain, egg as well as with sugar. This is where the apam made from a fermented batter of rice flour & coconut milk . Each of the apam have its speciality with the crispy edges on it. I love the sweet apam which is come with it as well.
Price: RM6.00 each

How could we leave Aliyaa without the dessert, we had the rich pudding made of coconut milk, brown palm sugar, eggs as well as Cinnamon with it. The Vatalipam is something special to have to end our meal which is not too sweet as well.
