3M Malaysia Celebrates 50 Years of Science and Innovation that Cares

November 8, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

In celebration of 3M Malaysia’s 50th Anniversary, 3M Malaysia hosted its first experiential exhibition entitled 3M Malaysia 50 Years of Science and Innovation that Cares. The exhibition which takes place from 8th to 12th November 2017, demonstrates the Science and Innovation behind 3M’s range of products and solutions for consumers to experience in a multitude of areas.

During the opening ceremony, Parameswaran Nair, Managing Director of 3M Malaysia said, “3M has continuously strived to push the boundaries of Science and Innovation. Our aim is simple – to improve every aspect of Malaysian lives. It is this determination and passion which lead us to our 50th year mark of success in Malaysia.”

Parameswaran Nair adds, “3M promotes a culture of inventiveness and innovation by applying Science in developing effective products and providing innovative solutions to solve the biggest of every day challenges. 3M Malaysia 50 Years of Science that Cares echoes this spirit through the exhibition, which we are proud to share with all Malaysians.”

The experiential exhibition began with Dr. Ezani Monoto signing on as the official 3M Scotch-Brite™ brand ambassador. Dr. Ezani Monoto, a qualified dentist and winner of the first Malaysian Masterchef, brings a wealth of experience being in the kitchen and will represent Scotch-Brite™ products in its application at home, helping Malaysians to save and stretch their ringgit. During the event, Dr. Ezani Monoto also conducted a cooking session and shared cleaning tips using Scotch-Brite™ products.

“As a chef who is constantly on the move, I rely on Scotch-Brite™ products which allows me to clean efficiently and effectively as I go about my day, be it at home or in the kitchen. This is attributed by the Science that goes into its range of products. I am delighted to work with the Scotch-Brite™ brand which has been a household name that many Malaysians have come to know and trust” said Dr. Ezani.

Shortly after, the opening ceremony took a memorable spin with the officiation into the Malaysian Book of Records for the “Biggest Collage Made of Sticky Notes” using Post-It® Super Sticky Notes. The record was a collaboration between 3M Malaysia and INTI International University & Colleges who helped develop and design the backdrop.

During the experiential exhibition which spans throughout the week, specially created larger-than-life booths will showcase the Science and Innovation behind 3M products in every juncture of life such as: the technology which goes behind 3M’s water purification system, how Scotch-Brite™ products can help you clean 3X faster and last 3X longer, and even protecting the exterior of your car from debris and light scratches with 3M™ Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film Pro Series.

Other areas where 3M products and solutions will be present are; home and workspace organization, health, fitness, car care and personal safety; ranging offerings from cleaning tools, hooks, tapes, adhesives, health supports & braces, clinical dressings, automotive products, water filtration, and many more innovative solutions.

Over the 5 days event, consumers can experience firsthand and learn about how Science is applied to 3M products and at the same time win exciting prizes. There will also be a live car wrap demonstration which allows consumers to witness how a car is completely transformed. Want to get your hands on USD$100? Winners can walk away with USD$100, if he/she can defeat the 3M™ VHB™ Tape Strength Test. Additionally, as part of 3M’s effort to educate consumers, there will also be a dental talk titled “Caring for Your Chompers”.
