Main St. Deli Turns ‘Sweet 16’ with a Fresh New Menu

March 20, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

Serving guests since April 2001, Main St. Deli dedicates its 16th birthday by introducing a menu revamp. The new look features an emoji burger menu, a Tex-Mex section, and a wide assortment of American deli sandwiches, as well as other homemade specialties.

Regarded as one of the first authentic New York-style delis in Hong Kong, Main St. Deli reanimates its modern spirit with a playful emoji burger menu for a fun tasting experience. The main menu highlights a QR code where guests simply have to scan with any mobile device to gain access to the emoji burger selection. All made to order with high-quality ingredients and served with home fries or salad, guests have a burger range to choose from including the Australian Wagyu M5, Southern Fried Chicken, Battered or Grilled Fish, and the O.M.G. Veggie.

In addition, the menu features new dishes such as the Soft Shell Crab Bao made of crispy soft shell crab, fried quail egg, red cabbage, pickles and coriander stuffed in a soft bun; and the Baja-style Soft Fish Tacos wrapped with sole fish, avocado, cilantro, lime, tomatoes, purple cabbage and Baja dressing.

For serious eaters, The Ugly Duckling presents a generous serving of curly fries and smoked duck breast topped with black truffle, parmesan cheese and house gravy. Equally tantalising is The Steak Caprese with succulent grilled Australian strip loin steak, grilled U.S. bacon, mozzarella cheese, romaine lettuce, basil and balsamic reduction sandwiched in a choice of Turkish sesame or grilled marble rye bread.

Offering America’s favourite Buffalo wings in a variety of spicy flavours – original, atomic, hellfire and suicide hot, Main St. Deli ups the ante with a Suicide Hot Wings Challenge. Fearless contestants who can finish six suicide hot wings in five minutes and withstand five more minutes of afterburn will have their wings on the house and their pictures on the “Hall of Fame”.

Guests will still be able to reminisce over a few classic favourites like the traditional Reuben Sandwich and the Matzah Ball Soup, as well as the signature Deli Shakes and Ice Cream Floats.

On the dessert menu, treat-seekers can indulge in the new Signature French Toast, a soft caramelised brioche dripped with maple syrup and fresh berries, and the Banana Split made with Mövenpick vanilla ice cream, strawberries, chocolate and Chantilly whipped cream.

Paying tribute to 16 years, Main St. Deli diners who have birthdays in the month of April will receive a sweet surprise on the house just by showing a valid identification with a birth date.
