Grand Opening of Café 100 by The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong

March 19, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong and sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck (sky100) jointly launched “Café 100 by The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong” (Café 100), the world’s first observation deck F&B outlet operated by the The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong. To celebrate this remarkable occasion, a number of esteemed officiating guests: Mr. Allen Fung, Executive Director of Sun Hung Kai Properties and Chairman of sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck; Mr. Ricco de Blank, Chief Executive Officer (Hotel Division) of Sun Hung Kai Properties; Mr. Stephen Ho, Chief Executive Officer Greater China of Marriott International; Mr. Pierre Perusset, General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong; Mr. Matthias Terrettaz, Hotel Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong; Mr. Peter Find, Executive Chef of The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong; Ms. Josephine Lam, Vice Chairman of sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck; and Ms. Stella Wong, General Manager of sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck,  were invited to officiate the opening ceremony.

Pierre Perusset, General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong also shared his view of this momentous new opening. “sky100 has long been our close neighbour and partner,” he remarked. “We have been working closely with sky100’s team to provide catering services for a range of corporate events and wedding banquets, and have established a strong mutual trust over the years.
We are excited about the arrival of Café 100. Our Executive Chef, Peter Find, has designed an enticing menu, such as soft-serve ice cream made with fresh milk produced in Hokkaido, which has a rich fat content of 8%, as well as a selection of sweet and savory French crêpes. Meticulously selected premium ingredients will all be freshly cooked upon order to deliver the finest taste and quality, and the menu will also be regularly refreshed with seasonal flavours. For instance, the soft-serve ice cream will be available in sakura flavour in spring, and roasted sweet potato flavour in winter.”

“The contemporary interior design and elegant simplicity of Café 100 is another highlight,” he added. “Inspired by the relaxing ambience of a Parisian terrace café, Cafe 100 adopts a modern minimalistic design scheme, finished in warm tones. The bright and airy space is highlighted by floor-to-ceiling glass windows that bring in lots of natural light. Located on the west side of the deck, with a seating capacity for just 40 customers, Café 100 offers guests boundless sea views and captivating sunsets as they enjoy a cultural fusion of foods and flavours created by the hotel’s expert team. With our rich resources and experience, we are committed to offering a remarkable new boutique culinary experience by extending the legendary service of The Ritz-Carlton to all diners at Café 100.”

Josephine Lam, Vice Chairman of sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck said, “Since its opening in 2011, sky100 has been a popular destination among local and international visitors who have fallen in love with its 360-degree views of Hong Kong’s world-renowned skyline. It was recently named one of the 17 beautiful reasons to visit Hong Kong in 2017 by CNN Travel, which is a further testament to sky100’s status as one of Hong Kong’s must-visit landmark attractions. Today, the official opening of Café 100 marks another important milestone in our 6th Anniversary year. Visitors of sky100 can now enjoy a tantalizing array of exclusively designed treats, and the acclaimed service of The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong. Indeed, the opening of Café 100 sets a new standard for observation decks worldwide.

“As one of Hong Kong’s most famous attractions and the city’s only indoor observation deck, sky100 is continually striving to enrich the guest experience,” she added. “Food and beverages are a vital part of that service offering. With the opening of Café 100 and the launch of our brand new ‘Café 100 Dining Package’(please refer to the appendix), we believe it can further attract more local and overseas repeat visitors.”
