Gateway Hotel Presents a Tantalising ‘Taste of Australia’ by Guest Chef Stefano Verrillo

From 23 February to 4 March 2017, Guest Chef Stefano Verrillo from Marco Polo Plaza Cebu presents a 10-day celebration of fine Australian cuisine during the nightly dinner buffet at Three on Canton. A mouth-watering ‘Down Under’ snack menu will also be available at stylish al fresco, Be on Canton, during the same period.

An Australian citizen with more than 30 years of culinary experience in hotels around the world, such as Hilton Hotels and Sheraton Hotels in Australia, Chef Stefano Verrillo is currently Executive Chef of Marco Polo Plaza Cebu. He will showcase vibrant flavours from Down Under in an array of authentic soups, salads, savoury mains, desserts – and, of course, a classic Aussie Barbie.

Dinnertime diners at Three on Canton will be treated to OZ homestyle favourites, including Golden nuggets and sweet potato soup, Australian creamy sweet seafood chowder, Chicken parmigiana the OZ way, BBQ sausages on mashed potato, and Freemantle style fish and chips. Guests can also savour unique Antipodean meats such as kangaroo, emu and crocodile. Of course, no Aussie feast would be complete without the beloved Aussie Barbie (barbecue). The chefs will be grilling up Kangaroo skewers, Lobster, ‘Shrimp on the Barbie’, Meat skewers, Crocodile mini burgers and skewers and Lamb chops, all prepared in ‘true blue’ Australian style.

For a sweet finale, diners can enjoy traditional Aussie desserts, such as Lamingtons, Passion fruit pavlova, Lemon meringue pie and Anzac biscuits, handcrafted by Chef Stefano.

For a chic al fresco ambience, Be on Canton’s sunny terrace will also be serving an Australian snack menu. Don’t miss the delicious Aussie meat pie with tomato sauce or chili sauce, Fried barra fish cake with lemon myrtle sauce, Australian burger with the works and Sausage rolls with sweet chili sauce.

All are redeemable at any Rydges Hotels for accommodation and / or food and beverage purchases. The 4th and 5th prizes are complimentary dinner buffet for 2 persons at Three on Canton and lunch buffet for 2 persons at Three on Canton respectively.
