MAIN PLACE TURNS TWO!

June 29, 2016 by StrawberrY Gal

Despite being a relatively new mall in Subang Jaya, Main Place has managed to establish itself as the community’s go-to place. Main Place is mindful of its quick success and attributes it to its shoppers.

To thank shoppers for choosing them as their quintessential mall, Main Place celebrated its second anniversary with a six day-long celebration to express their thanks to shoppers for their support and patronage.

“We are very grateful to our shoppers who have faithfully visited us from the start. This anniversary celebration belongs to them and we want to let them know that,” said mall management director Woo May Foong.

For the week of the 20th to 24th June 2016, lucky drivers were surprised with free car washes sponsored by Cars International.

“I never expected this. I was just coming to do some last minute shopping for groceries for tonight’s dinner. It’s such a nice gesture from Main Place and very timely as my car needed a wash,” said one lucky shopper, Madelina Lim.

The celebrations concluded on Saturday, 25th June 2016 with the Main Place team handing out 200 daisy flowers with an attached ‘Thank You” message to shoppers. A photo booth was set up at the concourse level, which saw many shoppers snapping photos with family and friends.

Manny, the mall’s cat mascot, played and greeted shoppers around the mall with excited children trailing in his wake.

“As we crossed the two year milestone, we wanted to give back to our shoppers and the community, which is why our celebrations were centred around them with free car washes and flowers,” said Woo.

Main Place first opened its doors in March 2014 and has served the Subang residents as well as those from Puchong and Shah Alam and Putra Heights.

The mall continuously engages and brings the community together through various activities such as last year’s ONEderful Anniversary, Good Life Walkathon, Paint the Mall, Earth Day campaign, and the recent Kidpreneur Mini Carnival Kids Market where kids got to be entrepreneurs by setting up sales booths.

In ensuring its CSR programme serves as a catalyst for positive change in the community, Main Place has also partnered with MPSJ for the launch of a community guard house in USJ 20/1-3. Last year, the mall also involved the local community in its East Coast Flood Relief Campaign to provide supplies to the flood victims.

True to its name, the mall has become the ‘main place’ in the neighbourhood, offering plenty of clothing options with Uniqlo, Nichii, Brands Outlet, and Cotton On. It covers grocery and necessities with Jaya Grocer and Daiso as well as books and stationaries with Popular Book Store. Main Place is also kid-friendly with Toys ‘R’ Us and Kizsports & Gym.
