CRAB FACTORY @ SS2

September 20, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

Crab Factory at SS2 had famed for their ultimate seafood feast. Locating at the busy streets along SS2 which is just facing the McDonalds, it is easily spoted. The brain child of T.Y.Ooi, he came back to Malaysia bringing the Southern American Cuisine of Creole and Cajun Style back here. The whole concepts is all about digging in your food with your hands for some finger-licking goodness.

Bringing you with the cement flooring, exposed brick walls, cement walls with the bicycle tires on the wall. With huge boards in the shop which stated the prices of the seafood are displayed. I love the way it is designed which brings us with the relaxing feel while enjoying the delicious delights.

Fresh seafood is what you will be looking at from their signatures crabs to prawns, yabbies, mussels, baby octopus, and many more. Everything here comes simply delicious and they are definitely different from the usual stir fried dishes shop you have outside.

How to order?
Step 1: Choose your Seafood!
They have king crab, lobsters, slipper lobsters, freshwater prawns, yabbies, scallops, mussels, prawns, crabs, japanese snails, baby octopus and even seasonal items!

Step 2: Choose your Sauce of choice
– Zesty Lemon
– Garlic Butter
– *Jamba-Jamba (tomato based)
– *Signature Southern Bang
*You can choose the level of spiciness too for these 2 sauces

Step 3: Add in 2 Free Bag Buddies
Potatoes or Corn
OR
Chicken sausages , enoki mushrooms , king mushrooms or button mushrooms

While waiting for our meal, we try the Gumbo (RM 14.90) where the soup is made of chicken broth, lady’s finger, capsicum, onions, spicy sausages, prawn and based rice.

E-20150812-3037

Jamba Jamba 500g Prawn with Sausage (RM 76)
Of course, we started with something mild which is the Jamba Jamba 500g Prawn with Sausage (RM 76). The succulent and juicy prawns with the zesty lemon taste in it. Just finger lickering good and it is indeed suits for someone who could not take spicy.
E-20150812-3052
Garlic Butter 500g Mussels with Potato & Enoki Mushroom (RM 32)
This is indeed a good one. The mussels is indeed a fresh one without any muddy taste in it. Served with the potato and enoki mushroom. Awesomely good!

E-20150812-3056

Southern Bang (Medium Spicy ) 900g Brown Crab with King Mushroom (RM 171)
Going to the next level with the medium spiciness, it is served with the brown crab which is awesomely good. The huge crab comes with loads of eggs inside and it also have loads of meat too. The mild spiciness comes just nice for me.

E-20150812-3099
Jamba – Jamba (Medium Spicy) 950 g Spanner Crab with Sausages (RM 180.50)
E-20150812-3082

Southern Bang (Medium Spicy ) Crab with Corn and Enoki Mushroom (RM 92.50)
E-20150812-3083
Southern Bang (Oly Crab Spicy) 500g Yabbies with King Mushroom (RM113)

To conclude, we indeed enjoy the delicious seafood with different level of spiciness and I love the Garlic Butter and the Zesty Lemon the most. Nicely done. For those who can enjoy kick of spiciness, you may try the medium but if you can tolerate the pipping hot spicy, then you woyld go for Oly Crab Spicy Sauce. Even though the price is slightly at the high side, but it is worth every penny you pay for.
