Following the success of Dorsett Hospitality International (HKEx Stock Code 2266) “C-S-R Campaign” led by its Vice Chairman, Datin Jasmine Abdullah for the group’s hotels in Malaysia and Singapore, the company has successfully raised funds for the Paediatric Ward of National Heart Institute’s Hospital (IJN) through its “Adopt-A-Panda Charity Project” by the group’s Silka Hotels.

Datin Jasmine Abdullah together with the associates from Silka Cheras Kuala Lumpur, Silka Maytower Kuala Lumpur and Silka Johor Bahru visited the paediatric ward of National Heart Institute’s Hospital to present a cheque of RM12, 000 raised from the “Adopt-A-Panda Charity Project” to Puan Ritzzawati Rosli binti Mohd Rosli, Manager of IJN Foundation.
The funds raised are to provide the necessary financial aid to children with heart complications in order to get a new lease on life. Datin Jasmine Abdullah and the associates of Silka Hotels also spread festive cheer by giving out cookies that were baked by the General Managers from Dorsett Grand Hotels, Dorsett Hotel and Silka Hotels during its “C-S-R Campaign” at their visit to IJN’s paediatric ward.“Dorsett C-S-R campaign is a heart touching project. As a hospitality group that cares and aware of the needs of the less fortunate, our group constantly organises activities to touch the hearts of the needy,” Datin Jasmine Abdullah said.
As a loving and passionate person, Datin Jasmine Abdullah said that doing charity is something that is very close to her heart and very much in line with the group’s on-going initiatives to contribute to the local community in the different locations where the group operates such as in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and also in the United Kingdom, which represents the group’s first out-of-Asia venture.

In responding to the call of Silka Hotels’ ‘Adopt-A-Panda Charity Project,’ philanthropist Dato Sri Dr Vincent Tiew together with his associates from the Andaman Group have adopted 150 Pandas. The group has generously decided to give away the adopted pandas as gifts to the children at IJN Hospital’s Paediatric Ward. Other generous individuals and companies who have so far come forward in support of this worthy cause includes Dato Wira Ng, Datin Azliza of Blu Inc, Raja Teh Abdullah and Kenneth Soh of Luen Heng to name a few.The fund raising project is currently ongoing; for every panda that is adopted by the public at a cost of only RM48 each, the nett proceeds raised will be channeled to IJN Hospital’s Paediatric Ward. The adopted pandas can then be contributed as a gift to the children by the donor, or the donor can choose to bring it home for their loved ones.
To immediately lend a helping hand to the children diagnosed with various congenital heart diseases in IJN Hospital, members of the public can adopt the Pandas respectively at Silka Cheras Kuala Lumpur, Silka Maytower Kuala Lumpur or Silka Johor Bahru.
