ASIA TRAVEL HOUSE: A BUDGET STAY IN HONG KONG

December 24, 2013 by StrawberrY Gal

We extended our trip and we make our booking at a guest house in Jordan Street. The packed place I could say compare to Central which gave us a more relaxing walk. People around the area here is hectic in their life. The room we booked is a double room but since the room is not available and need to wait for another hour, they offered us 2 single bed instead with the window view.

Basically, it is a flat with heavy occupancy and they had made in cubes for visitors and backpack to rent. When we reach the building, we notice that there are a lot of guest house and hotel at every floors. Ours is at Level 5. Going up the lift is a bit scarry where the lift is quite old and when it stopped at any floors, you can feel the “DUM” sound. Nothing much to complain about. Though the building is quite old, it is pretty well maintain.

We done our booking via Booking.com but the Asia Travel House(亞洲旅游賓館)prefer accepting cash. If you love to use credit card for your payment, there is additional charges. As so, we gave up and use cash to make the payment. There is a need to provide HKD 100 for deposit too.

The room is pretty small and it is just good for a sleep and there is no walking space around the room. Upon going in the room, you will pass through a small lane and there are bed rooms on your right and left. Once you open your room door, the toilet is just infront and next to it is two single bed.

Pretty simple. Bed are clean and well maintained. They do supply towels and basic neccesities like shampoo as well as body shampoo but I prefer to use my own supply of towels and shampoos. You can have your own boiled water as also a TV too in the room.Guests will find a fridge and microwave in the pantry. Hairdryers are also provided on request. There is also a washing machine which guests can use at an extra charge. Luggage can be stored at the front desk for free. Aircond is available but there is no remote control found which make us a bit cold for the first night.

There is not much space for us to store our big luggage bag and we just put in below our beds. So, everytime when we need to get our things, we need to carryup and down. Beds are pretty hard which we are not getting used to it but being a guest house, I have nothing to complain.

Security there is good too where they have CCTV at the lift and apartment. So, overall I could say there is nothing much to complain about if you are looking for a budget place to stay in Hong Kong. We booked them at a low rate where 4 days 3 night stay cost us at HKD1100
