SANOOK BISTRO AND SPORTS BAR, KELANA JAYA

March 5, 2011 by StrawberrY Gal

A place for a dine with a lovely view of a lake which is really cool and romantic. A place I had invited for review which is Sanook Restaurant. The dining restaurant, bar and lounge that is hidden totally some where in LDP which located this Plaza Kelana Jaya with a great view.

The restaurant has been there for about 2 years back with a large range of choices of food where you can find from east to west. Sanook is a Thai name with the meaning “fun”, is a guiding principle of Thai social life. The Godfather, owner of the restaurant who is warm and friendly owner introduced his staff to us. The positions are really intresting with the name people pleaser instead of waiter and chief food artist instead of chef. The Godfather had named the name as this is to have more FUN in the work environment and no barrier among the staff. The restaurant is accomadating nearly everyone from drinkers which can enjoy around the bar or pools upstairs as well as a romatic view of the lakes for lovers.

Bruschetta De Gambas where it is served with prawns, calamiri, mussels, mozella cheese with tomato sauce. The taste is sweet and soury and is crispy. It is well served with wine being a nice combination
Taste: 4/5
Price: RM 13.00

Tod Man Kung consist of four palm sized, bouncy patties made from shrimp and infused with aromatic basil. The deep fried shrimp cakes is simply crunchy and very filling. With the bite, the texture is moist and super delicious. It is a must combination with beer.
Taste: 5/5
Price: RM 24.00

Tomyam Talay Pisek is a genuinely Thai food where the clear soup tomyam origanated from Southern Thailand. The clear soup tomyam with fresh giant water prawns, squids, and fish infused with their secret Thai herbs. It can be served for choices like noodles or rice. The taste too mee is not spicy and seafood is fresh.
Taste: 3/5
Price: RM 26.00

Crispy Barramundi where the fish is freshly served from the market and seared to perfection. It is garnished with braised bok choy on a bed of red pepper coulis topped with tomato chutney and shreded crispy leek. The fish is very fresh and smooth and the taste is very delicious. The sauce is very special as it is made from capsicum pullis with capsical tomato cullis.
Taste: 5/5
Price: RM 26.00

Mango Salad is indeed a surprise for me in terms on presentation as it is not alike those mango salad which is served in the Thai Restaurant. The Mango Salad is a fresh and succullent mango toased with romaine alfafa salad and chilled coriander prawns. It is topped with tangy orange vinagrette dressing and balsanic reduction.
Taste: 4/5
Price: RM 19.00

Their signature desserts Tiramisu is being served chilled in a cute martini glass with generous topping of cocoa powder and an eclair on top. The old time Itallian favorite old time favorite of sponge cookies in stroy coffee with mascarpone cream.
Taste: 4/5
Price: 16.00

Apple Strudel is a traditional Vienesse pastry, sweet and savory filled with gratted apple, sugar, cinnamon, raisins and bread crumps. A sweet one to try.
