Typo Launches World-First Concept Store in Malaysia,An Elevated New Chapter Begins

April 2, 2026 by StrawberrY Gal

Typo is opening an exciting world-first new concept store at IOI Mall, Puchong, Selangor Darul Ehsan, and inviting customers to step into the brand’s new playful, elevated and imaginative experience.

The world-first concept store marks a new chapter for Typo, bringing to life the brand’s evolution while holding onto the magic that’s always defined it. Inspired by the idea that a simple piece of paper can become anything – a plan, a dream, a doodle, a moment of joy – the new concept celebrates creativity in all its forms.

To celebrate the opening, Typo will also be welcoming customers at its new IOI Mall store with free treats in-store from 2nd – 5th April, offering a chance to experience the new space – and a little extra joy – as part of the launch celebration.

While still unmistakably Typo, the new store introduces a step up in quality and experience. The new store layout is more open and immersive, designed as a creative playground where straight lines, squiggles and doodles all belong – a space that encourages customers to slow down, explore and spend time discovering products that feel anything but ordinary.

Stationery remains at the heart of the brand, now featuring elevated paper, construction and usability -designed to feel good to use, whether you’re writing lists, journalling, studying or sketching ideas. A broader lifestyle collection spanning gifting, travel and everyday essentials sits alongside, bringing together pieces that add colour, personality and fun to daily life.

Scott Druce, General Manager Typo, said the launch reflects both the brand’s growth strategy and its commitment to helping customers express what makes them extraordinary.

“We chose Malaysia for our first new Typo concept store because it’s a growing market for us and the customer here is really engaged with the brand. It felt like the right place to start this next chapter. You’ll see a step up across everything, from the product to the store experience, but it’s still very much Typo at its core. We’re excited to open at IOI and see how customers respond to what we’re building,” said Druce. Malaysia’s vibrant creative energy made it the ideal location to launch Typo’s new concept store, with the market showing a strong connection to the brand’s customer community.

Cash Ryan, Country Manager Asia, said “It’s incredibly special for our Malaysian team and customers to be the first in the world to experience the new Typo brand, product and store concept. Malaysia has such a strong creative spirit and as a much-loved brand across the region, launching this world-first concept store here is a proud moment for our team and celebrates our growth and long-term commitment in the Asia region,” said Cash.

Typo is part of the global Cotton On business, a portfolio of brands including Cotton On Women’s, Cotton On Men’s, Cotton On Body, Cotton On Kids, Typo, Factorie, Supré and Ceres Life. Together the Cotton On business operates in more than 20 countries and is powered by 20,000 team members across 1,300 stores, locally operated e-commerce sites in ten markets, eight global distribution centres and one life-changing Cotton On Foundation.
