PAVILION REIT MALLS ILLUMINATE MALAYSIA’S DEEPAVALI WITH SPECTACULAR INDIAN CULTURAL CELEBRATIONS

October 15, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

Pavilion REIT Malls invites Malaysians to immerse themselves in the radiant beauty of Deepavali through an extraordinary month-long celebration bringing India’s most cherished traditions to the Klang Valley. From now until 26 October 2025, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Pavilion Bukit Jalil and Intermark Mall present a captivating fusion of traditional Indian artistry, contemporary entertainment and flavourful culinary experiences that honour Malaysia’s rich multicultural heritage.

Setting the tone for the festivities, Pavilion KL unveiled Diya Deepavali, a cultural initiative inspired by the symbolic diya – the radiant flame representing hope, prosperity and unity.  The event was officiated by Yang Berusaha Datuk Manoharan Periasamy, Director-General of Tourism Malaysia, representing Yang Berhormat Dato’ Sri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), alongside Madam Baljeet Kaur Grewal A/P Jaswant Singh, Board of Directors of Pavilion KL, and Mr B. Ravintharan, Head of Cards, Group CFS, Maybank. The evening of cultural diplomacy commenced with a ceremonial lighting and beating of drums, followed by a spectacular Indian Cultural Extravaganza presented by Anhad Studio’s acclaimed performers, specially flown in from India and performing in Malaysia for the first time in 15 years.

Enhancing the festive atmosphere, Pavilion KL will be presenting a stunning Kolam installation at the Main Entrance until Sunday, 26 October 2025. The centrepiece featured an intricate Mughal Princess design, showcasing the timeless artistry of traditional kolam while offering shoppers an immersive visual experience that celebrates Indian heritage and craftsmanship.

Partnering with Pavilion KL, Barbeque Nation, in collaboration with Anhad Studio, hosted the Indian Cultural Extravaganza, a three-day Deepavali Festival presenting a completely unique cultural experience to Malaysia. This extraordinary event featured a traditional puppet theatre, live instrumental music, interactive craft workshops, and carefully curated tastings showcasing the authentic flavours of India’s culinary regions. The main highlight comprised traditional performances from Rajasthan, with each day possessing a unique theme: Desert Rhythms, Colours of Traditions and Royal Finale.

Food enthusiasts can embark on a culinary odyssey through the Grand Trunk Road Food Festival by Barbeque Nation at their restaurant on Level 9, from  now until 26 October 2025. The festival will feature several authentic experiences, including “Chatori Gully – Flavours from the Streets of GT Road”, serving beloved street chaats such as Pani Poori, Papdi Chaat, Dahi Poori, Dahi Bhalla and Palak Chaat, complemented by refreshing Masala Chai and Aam Panna, all at RM9 per serving. The “Meethai Junction – Sweets of the GT Belt” presents traditional desserts including Angoori Gulab Jamun, Bengali Sondesh, creamy Ras Malai, golden Jalebi, Cham Cham, and Sev Namkeen. Beyond culinary delights, the festival celebrates Indian heritage with interactive activities such as the “Lakh Ki Chudi” corner featuring traditional lac bangles handcrafted by skilled artisans, a Mehendi station offering intricate henna art, and cultural performances delivering an immersive journey into India’s vibrant traditions.

To commemorate this luminous celebration, Pavilion KL presents exclusive rewards for Maybank Credit or Charge Card holders spending at specialty stores and F&B outlets. Shoppers spending RM800 in a single transaction will receive the sophisticated Baroque Crystalline Glass Serving Plate, while purchases of RM1,500 unlock the elegant Gold Plated Glass Bowl Set – an exquisite collectable capturing the refined aesthetics of this unforgettable Deepavali season.

As the festive celebrations unfold, Pavilion Bukit Jalil invites shoppers to experience Rangoli Deepavali – Together, Here, happening from 9-20 October 2025. The mall will showcase two grand, vibrant rangolis adorned with intricate floral patterns and festive colours, inviting everyone to admire their beauty and experience the spirit of creativity, tradition, and togetherness that defines Deepavali.

A highlight of the celebration is the stunning series of rangoli installations thoughtfully created by talented students of City University Malaysia in collaboration with Pavilion Bukit Jalil. Shoppers can admire these intricate works of art at the Bukit Jalil Entrance, Level 2, Spanish Steps and Main Entrance, Level 3. Adding to the festive spirit, the Indian Cultural Bazaar at Bukit Jalil Entrance,  Level 2, offers a vibrant marketplace of festive treats, crafts and gifts — the perfect destination to shop for all your Deepavali essentials.

For those who love hands-on experiences, Pavilion Bukit Jalil offers family-friendly weekend workshops this Deepavali, including Henna Art and Sand Art Rangoli sessions with a minimum spend of RM30 in a single receipt at the Indian Cultural Bazaar, as well as a traditional Indian food-making and tasting experience by India Gate. These activities offer families a meaningful way to learn, create and celebrate the festive spirit together.

To make the season even more rewarding, Pavilion Bukit Jalil spreads festive cheer with exciting Gift with Purchase offers. Shoppers who spend RM400 in a single receipt will receive Parkson gift vouchers worth RM30, while Pavilion Privileges Members who spend RM800 in a single receipt will enjoy fashion brand cash vouchers and an invitation to the special Rangoli Sand Art Workshop on Saturday, 18 October 2025. With its vibrant decorations, cultural showcases, festive shopping experiences and delightful dining options, Pavilion Bukit Jalil serves as the ultimate destination to celebrate Deepavali festivities with loved ones.

Meanwhile, at Intermark Mall, the spirit of Deepavali comes alive through the Radiance of Heritage campaign, held from 7-26 October 2025. Designed to honour the timeless beauty of Indian culture, the campaign transforms the mall into a festive hub featuring traditional performances, interactive workshops and a vibrant Deepavali bazaar in collaboration with Antara Events. Visitors will be immersed in the rhythms of Bollywood and folk dance performances by Eraya Dance, mesmerised by intricate henna artistry by Sanggetha Pillai of Hennastacious, and invited to express their creativity through a Diya lamp decorating workshop, where they can keep their handcrafted creation. The experience continues with a traditional indian dance workshop by Antara and aromatic masala tea from Tea Thambi every Friday through Sunday during the campaign.

In line with its dedication to enriching community experiences, Intermark Mall will reward shoppers with the exclusive Radiance of Heritage Aroma Stone, a beautifully crafted keepsake redeemable with a minimum spend of RM300 in two combined receipts. This thoughtful gift allows visitors to take home a symbol of Deepavali’s enduring light and warmth.

At its heart, Radiance of Heritage is not merely a seasonal showcase but a tribute to unity, family and cultural pride—echoing Deepavali’s timeless message of light triumphing over darkness. By weaving together tradition and modernity, Intermark Mall invites all Malaysians and visitors to celebrate the Festival of Lights in a way that is both meaningful and memorable.
