Resorts World Genting Unveils New House Wines from Hacienda Araucano with Exclusive Wine Dinners

June 14, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

Resorts World Genting is excited to announce the introduction of its new house wine from Hacienda Araucano, marking the first time a Chilean wine has been selected. The official launch is set for 19 June 2024.

Hacienda Araucano, a distinguished winery located near Lolol in the Colchagua Valley of Chile, will now grace the tables of Resorts World Genting. This vineyard, renowned for its cooling Pacific Ocean breezes, produces premium wines that have garnered international acclaim.

The new house wines include:

Araucano Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon

François planted the Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon in 2000 on the virgin terroir in the judicious Lolol Valley of granite schist soils. The wine is harvested in crates, plot-by-plot selection, double sorting on arrival to remove impurities. The result is a beautiful ruby colour with blue touches. Aromas driven by ripe fruit, particularly blackberries and cherries with vanilla and toasted notes round out the aromatic spectrum. The wine is full and smooth in the attack, bearing witness to a warm vintage, with a lingering, aromatic finish of ripe fruit.

Humo Blanco Lolol Valley Chardonnay

Resorts World Genting’s house white wine, selected for its impeccable balance and mineral character, this Chardonnay offers lemony fruit notes with a nutty finish, reflecting the unique qualities of its Lolol Valley origin.

Une Rosé Sparkling Wine

This delightful rosé, made from 100% Pinot Noir, promises a refreshing and elegant experience, perfect for celebrations and special moments.

To celebrate the introduction of these exceptional wines, Resorts World Genting will host two exclusive wine dinners at Genting Rouge on 19 and 20 June 2024, priced at RM688.00 nett per person. This limited-seating dinners will feature a meticulously curated Latin American menu with an Asian twist, crafted by acclaimed Peruvian chef Daniel Chavez. Trained in classic French cooking techniques under Chef Gunther Hubrechsen at Les Amis, Chavez currently serves as the Peruvian Culinary Ambassador of Singapore, appointed by the Peruvian Embassy of Singapore. The culinary genius behind CANCHITA Peruvian Cuisine and TINTO Spanish restaurant in Singapore, Chef Chavez will present an exquisite five-course meal, with three courses expertly paired with our new house wines.

The exclusive menu for the wine dinners are:

Causa de Langosta

A delightful combination of potato, lime and aji amarillo salad with lobster, crispy red quinoa and salsa brava, paired with Hacienda Araucano UNE Rosé Pinot Noir Organic Sparkling.

Ceviche Canchita

A fusion of marinated tuna belly in Peruvian Japanese tiger’s milk, sweet potato puree, avocado and canchita corn, complemented by Hacienda Araucano Humo Blanco Chardonnay.

Pulpo a la Brasa

Grilled octopus served with black olive and caper mayo, lentil stew, chimichurri and crispy garlic.

Lomo Saltado

A delectable dessert of broken homemade butter cookie with dulce de leche, pineapple compote and mango sauce.

Another highlight of the evening will be the presence of wine connoisseur, Jonathan Dahan. He is a French national with extensive experience in the wine industry. Based in Guangzhou for the past 16 years, he has transitioned from selling French wine in China to overseeing the entire Asian market. Holding WSET 3 and WSET Diploma certifications, Dahan has traveled globally to vineyards, lectured master classes, judged wine competitions and authored numerous articles on wine. Dahan will be present to meet guests at both the dinners to speak about the wines selected by Resorts World Genting as well as the vineyard and terroir of Hacienda Araucano.
