Savor & Soar among the Clouds this CNY at Element Kuala Lumpur

January 3, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

12 years have passed, and it’s high time we celebrate the arrival of the most majestic and fiercest zodiac again this Chinese New Year. Paying tribute to the Year of The Dragon, a legendary creature that flies among the clouds in Chinese myths, Element Kuala Lumpur is thrilled to present culinary specialties carrying auspicious meanings in its skyscraping venues, from Yee Sang, buffet, high tea set to 2 private reunion set menus.

Wholesome & Colorful: Prosperous Yee Sang

A feast to both the eyes and taste buds, the Hotel’s Executive Chinese Chef, Linus Mak’s very own take on this customary festive entrée is not to be missed. Instead of using the conventional plum sauce as the condiment, Chef Mak has handpicked a special blend of pineapple dressing to bring together a perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess. Top off this kaleidoscopic platter made of refreshing medley of shredded fresh fruits and vegetables with a topping of your choice, such as Raw Salmon Slices, Crispy Fish Skins or Whole Abalones.

Aside from being sold TRACE Restaurant & Bar for dine-in and takeaway, the Yee Sang will also be served as an auspicious starter in either one of our private reunion set menus.

Reunite at Soaring Heights: Private Reunion Set Menus

Be it intimate family reunions, corporate get-togethers or much looked-forward-to gatherings, nothing spells Chinese New Year quite like enjoying a table full of delicacies with people you value and cherish. In celebration of the Year of The Dragon, Element Hotel Kuala Lumpur will introduce 2 thoughtfully crafted set menus for you to host a private reunion at one of the city’s most sought-after high-floor venues.

Featuring course after course of Chinese dishes curated by Chef Mak, with over 20 years of experience under his belt, both set menus will be started on a festive note with the ritualistic Yee Sang presentation. What follows is a Double-Boiled Chicken Soup that retains the true essence of the nourishing ingredients and herbs used. Diners can expect to continue whetting their appetite with chicken, fish and sea prawn dishes prepared in a variety of mouth-watering styles, before sampling the specially braised “Money Bags” that carry prosperity symbolism and boast fresh flavors.

Minimum booking of 3 tables will be required.

As you delight in the final savoury course, fragrant fried rice in Cantonese style, ensure to leave some room for a duo of dessert, Chilled Sugar Cane Juice with Aloe Vera, Snow Fungus and Sea Bird’s Nest, as well as Fried House-Made “Nian Gao” (Glutinious Rice Cake) to conclude the dining experience satisfactorily.

Minimum booking of 3 tables will be required.

Infusion of Cantonese and Szhechuan Flavours: Spring Oriental Dinner Buffet

Every Friday and Saturday starting from 5 Jan 2024, buffet lovers can spice up their evening with authentic Chinese additions to TRACE’s dinner buffet spread, offering must-try dishes like Claypot Rice with Preserved Chicken Sausage, Szechuan Style BBQ, Chinese Oden and Golden Salted Egg Squids.

What’s more, our loyal buffet patrons will continue to find items they love in the lineup, as popular items like Herb-Crusted Beef Sirloin, Lamb Mandi Rice, Live Grill Station, and the most-anticipated BBQ Beef Short Ribs Live Carving Trolley are all to stay.

Priced at RM168 nett per adult. Marriott Bonvoy members can enjoy 20% off, while Club Marriott members will receive a 35% off.

Indulgence in a Basket: Oriental High Tea

TRACE Restaurant & Bar‘s favorited Oriental High Tea last year will also make a comeback starting this January with an all-new presentation.

Elegantly presented in a 3-tier retro Chinese basket, this photo-worthy high tea encompasses a delicious range of Chinese teatime treats curated by none other than Chef Mak himself. Savories include Phoenix Dumpling topped with Baby Abalone, House-Made Siew Mai with Truffle Paste, Sliced Abalone Skewer, and Marinated Scallop Lips among others. Spoil your sweet tooth rotten with Pan-Fried Home Style Nian Gao, Deep-Fried Peanut Sesame Ball, House-Made Pumpkin & Taro Paste, and Panna Cotta with Dragon Fruit Puree.

Available daily from 1pm (Mon to Fri) or 2:30pm (Weekend & PH) until 5pm, each High Tea for 2 persons is priced at RM168nett per set.
