INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit Welcomes Executive Chef

November 21, 2023 by StrawberrY Gal

Drawing on more than two decade’s experience with some of the most popular hotel brands in Thailand, Katisak Pinkaew has been named the executive chef at the Kingdom’s first INNSiDE by Meliá hotel.

The Thailand-born chef will take charge of the eclectic dining scene at INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit, that debuted July this year in Bangkok’s On Nut neighbourhood, after working as executive chef at the Novotel Bangkok Bangna and Siam@Siam Design Hotel Bangkok for two years each.

Previously, he was the executive sous chef at Avani Atrium Bangkok for four years. He has also worked at the InterContinental Resort Hua Hin as senior sous chef, Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok and DoubleTree by Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok as an outlet chef, Mercure Pattaya Ocean Resort as executive chef, and Ramada Encore Bangkok as chef de cuisine. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Kitchen and Restaurant Management) from Bangkok’s Dusit Thani College.

In his new position, he will take charge of INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit’s culinary operations, with a host of responsibilities ranging from creating vibrant menus and dining experiences to budgeting, resource planning, forecasting and waste management.

The hotel’s dining landscape comprises all-day Thai dining restaurant The Kites Eatery, 33rd floor Luz Bangkok Tapas Bar, café and lobby bar The Open Living Lounge that’s integrated into the hotel’s 32nd floor coworking space, and The Giant Swing Pool Bar with a sky-high transparent infinity pool on the 34th floor.

“Bringing an impressive track record to the table, Katisak brims with creativity and innovation that places our eclectic dining scene in excellent stead,” said the hotel’s general manager Aarron Nelson. “At the forefront of creating contemporary Asian and international cuisine, he’s wowed us with his new menus.”

“I’m excited about diners trying all sorts of surprises at The Kites Eatery, serving central, northern, north-eastern and southern Thai cuisine a la minute using quality ingredients sourced from local farms,” Mr Pinkaew added. “We’re plating up authentic tapas at LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar, as well as Mediterranean, Thai and international snacks and dishes at our open-air pool and an easy grab-and-go menu and Thai and Western comfort food at The Open Living Lounge.”

INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit joins a collection of unique urban and beach hotels in 14 different countries designed for those with curious minds who cultivate a fluid lifestyle when it comes to work and leisure.
