Family Staycation at Eastin Hotel Penang: Comfort, Convenience & Coastal Charm

August 14, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

When it comes to family getaways, I’m always on the lookout for a place that checks all the right boxes from comfort, convenience, great food, and activities that keep everyone happy. On our recent trip to Penang, we discovered a gem that had all that and more: Eastin Hotel Penang.

Perfect Location

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Queensbay and gazing towards the tranquil shores of the Straits of Malacca, Eastin Hotel Penang is perfectly situated for both leisure and exploration. It’s just 15 minutes away from Georgetown, the UNESCO heritage city full of history, and only 10 minutes from Penang International Airport — which means less travel stress and more time to relax. Plus, it’s literally a stone’s throw from Queensbay Mall, one of Penang’s largest shopping and dining destinations, and surrounded by plenty of local eateries for that authentic Penang flavor.

Spacious Comfort

Our room was bright, welcoming, and generously spacious — perfect for a family stay. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and I loved how the large windows allowed natural light to stream in, creating a cheerful atmosphere. A thoughtful touch that really impressed me? Eastin Hotel is wonderfully generous with its mini-bar, which is complimentary for in-house guests. It’s a small detail, but one that makes you feel genuinely welcomed.

A Breakfast to Remember

One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the breakfast buffet. “Variety” doesn’t even begin to cover it — from hearty hot dishes to fresh fruits, pastries, cereals, and made-to-order egg stations, there’s something for everyone. My kids loved the pancakes and waffles with syrup, while I enjoyed a mix of local favorites like nasi lemak and Western classics like omelets and sausages. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — definitely one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had in a while.

Relaxation & Recreation

Eastin Hotel Penang has everything you need to unwind and recharge:

Outdoor Pool & Children’s Pool — Perfect for family fun, with great views as you swim.

Health Club — A well-equipped gym for those who like to keep active during their stay.

Health Spa & Massage Services — For pure relaxation, their spa treatments are just what tired parents need after a day exploring Penang.

The Convenience Factor

From free parking for in-house guests to being surrounded by shopping, dining, and entertainment options, Eastin Hotel Penang makes family travel incredibly easy. Everything you could need is just minutes away — whether it’s a quick grocery run, a casual dinner, or a scenic walk by the shore.

Final Thoughts

Our stay at Eastin Hotel Penang was the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and coastal charm. It’s an ideal base for exploring the island, yet offers enough facilities and activities to make staying in equally enjoyable. Whether you’re here for a weekend getaway or an extended holiday, Eastin Hotel Penang ensures you’ll feel right at home — with a touch of luxury.
