Ippudo opened their 12th outlet at Pearl Point KL

June 1, 2023 by StrawberrY Gal

Ippudo has opened their 12th restaurant in Malaysia, specifically at Pearl Point Shopping Mall on Old Klang Road. The restaurant introduces a unique concept called Ikazaya, which combines the elements of a bar and ramen for a delightful dining experience. Whether you’re seeking a quick meal with loved ones or a relaxing evening out, Ippudo Pearl Point caters to both.

At Ippudo Pearl Point, you can expect a cozy and inviting atmosphere that sets the stage for a delightful dining experience. The restaurant offers various seating options to suit your preference, whether you prefer a traditional table setting, a seat at the bar to watch the chefs in action, or even an al-fresco dining experience.

During the opening ceremony, Ippudo Pearl Point treated guests to a sake opening ceremony, adding a touch of tradition and significance to the event. The sake opening ceremony is a customary ritual that symbolizes the beginning of a new venture and the sharing of blessings and good fortune.

By incorporating this meaningful ceremony into the opening, Ippudo Pearl Point demonstrates their commitment to providing an authentic and memorable dining experience. It adds an extra layer of cultural richness to the overall ambiance and showcases the restaurant’s dedication to Japanese traditions.

Kushiyaki

To start our dining experience at Ippudo Pearl Point, we indulged in their Kushiyaki selection. This menu offers a wide range of grilled skewers, each with its own delectable combination of flavors. Among the options available, we tried the Tomato Yaki, where cherry tomatoes were carefully wrapped with slices of pork belly. This combination of sweet tomato and savory pork belly created a delightful harmony of tastes. Aside from the Tomato Yaki, there are numerous other options to choose from, such as the Grilled Button Mushroom, Nininiku (garlic chicken skewer), Grilled Okra, Avocado Bacon, Kani Tofu (crab tofu), and Buta Bara (pork belly). These skewers showcase the variety of ingredients and flavors that Ippudo has to offer, allowing guests to explore different combinations and find their favorites.

Ippudo Pork Bun (RM 9)

The Ippudo Pork Bun is indeed a crowd favorite and a must-try dish. This delectable bun features juicy braised pork belly that is cooked to perfection and served with Ippudo’s special sauce. The combination of tender pork belly and flavorful sauce creates a mouthwatering experience.

For those who don’t consume pork, Ippudo also offers alternative options such as the Soft Shell Crab Bun or the Wagyu Beef Bun. These variations provide equally delicious alternatives, allowing guests to indulge in the same fluffy bun with their preferred choice.

Dashimaki Truffle (RM 28)

The Dashimaki Truffle is a delightful dish that combines the flavors of a homemade Japanese omelette with the unique taste of truffle sauce. The Japanese-style omelette, known as dashimaki tamago, is skillfully prepared using a traditional technique to create a fluffy and slightly sweet texture.

What sets this dish apart is the addition of truffle sauce, which adds an aromatic and earthy flavor to the omelette. The truffle sauce complements the delicate flavors of the dashimaki tamago, creating a harmonious blend of tastes. The Dashimaki Truffle is a perfect choice for those who love the taste of the rich and distinct flavor of truffles, as well as the comforting and satisfying qualities of a well-made Japanese omelette.

Crispy Tebasaki (RM24)

The Crispy Tebasaki is a delightful dish featuring juicy chicken wings that have been perfectly deep-fried to achieve a crispy and golden exterior. The chicken wings are cooked to perfection, ensuring a juicy and tender meat inside.

What sets this dish apart is the additional touch of flavor from the chili powder. It adds a spicy kick and an extra umami taste to the already delicious chicken wings. The combination of the crispy texture and the flavorful chili powder makes the Crispy Tebasaki a truly addictive dish.

For Noodles, Ippudo Ramen is definitely proud of their noodle selection. The choices various from Shiromaru, Karaka Series, Ippudo Kuro and many more.

Akamaru Special  (RM 40)

The Akamaru Special is a flavorful and satisfying ramen dish that showcases the signature tonkotsu broth of Ippudo, elevated with spicy blended miso paste and fragrant garlic oil. This combination creates a rich and complex broth that is both creamy and savory. Served with ultra-thin noodles, the Akamaru Special features tender slices of pork belly, a seasoned soft-boiled egg, crunchy bean sprouts, and refreshing spring onions. The combination of these ingredients adds different textures and flavors to the dish, making each bite a delightful experience.

The Akamaru Special is a popular choice for those who enjoy a bold and spicy flavor profile. The miso paste and garlic oil provide a kick of heat that enhances the overall taste of the ramen. It’s a dish that offers a harmonious balance of flavors and is sure to satisfy your cravings for a hearty and delicious meal.

Ippudo Kuro Special (RM41)

The Ippudo Kuro Special is a delectable ramen dish that highlights the distinctive flavors and textures of Ippudo’s Kuro (black) broth. This rich and savory broth is made with a blend of soy sauce and other secret ingredients, resulting in a depth of flavor that complements the other components of the dish.

The thick and chewy noodles used in the Kuro Special are cooked to perfection, providing a satisfying bite with each slurp. The ramen is accompanied by salted soft-boiled eggs, which add a creamy and savory element to the dish. The BBQ pork belly, known as chashu, is tender and succulent, offering a melt-in-your-mouth experience.

To enhance the overall taste and texture, the Kuro Special is garnished with flavored black fungus, spring onions, seaweed, and bean sprouts. These ingredients provide a refreshing crunch and earthy undertones, balancing the richness of the broth and meat.

Itachoco Manaka(RM14)

The Itachoco Manaka is a delightful dessert option at Ippudo. This dessert features a combination of textures and flavors that create a satisfying and indulgent treat. At the heart of the Itachoco Manaka is a crunchy chocolate layer, which adds a satisfying texture and a rich chocolate taste. This layer is sandwiched between two layers of soft vanilla ice cream, providing a creamy and smooth contrast to the crunchy chocolate.

To complete the dessert, a wafer is placed on top, adding an additional element of crunch and enhancing the overall texture of the dish. The combination of the chocolate, vanilla ice cream, and wafer creates a harmonious blend of flavors and textures that will surely satisfy any sweet tooth.

Whether you’re a ramen lover or simply someone looking for a satisfying and flavorful meal, Ippudo is a must-visit destination. With its delicious dishes, welcoming atmosphere, and attention to detail, Ippudo promises a memorable dining experience for all.
