NESCAFÉ Classic Kopi Kedah Returns with 2021 Harvest!

November 1, 2021 by StrawberrY Gal

Coffee lovers will once again enjoy the distinctly Malaysian aroma and taste as NESCAFÉ Malaysia’s first-ever 100% home-grown coffee NESCAFÉ Classic Kopi Kedah returns with this year’s harvest! Beyond the product itself, which features a refreshed look, the brand is also offering five lucky Malaysians the opportunity to win an all-expenses paid trip to an actual coffee farm in Kedah with Peraduan NESCAFÉ Jom Semai Kopi!

As part of the NESCAFÉ Grown Respectfully Programme, NESCAFÉ Classic Kopi Kedah is a product of the sustainable coffee farming initiative aiming at revitalising the local coffee sector and uplifting the livelihoods of local farmers. The initiative provides training on good agricultural practices to equip the farmers with the necessary technical expertise to produce high-quality coffee beans, allowing Malaysians to enjoy the authentic local coffee taste they love. To date, the programme has engaged with over 200 farmers and planted up to 170,000 plantlets.

Coffee lovers eager to visit the birthplace of NESCAFÉ Classic Kopi Kedah can take part in Peraduan NESCAFÉ Jom Semai Kopi from 1 November to 31 December 2021. Participants simply need to purchase the 2021 edition of NESCAFÉ Classic Kopi Kedah and scan the QR code available in the packaging to enjoy a Virtual Coffee Farm Visit through an Augmented Reality (AR) experience. The AR app features a series of filters that can be used to develop a creative photo or video. Participants can post this to their Facebook, Instagram or YouTube accompanied by the hashtag #NescafeKopiKedah and an interesting caption to be in the running!

Mr. Othman Chraibi, Business Executive Officer Beverages, Nestle (Malaysia) Berhad, said, “The Grown Respectfully programme launched locally in Kedah is something that we hold close to our hearts, reflecting our commitment to support our farmers and the local communities. We are pleased to note that the launch of our NESCAFÉ Classic Kopi Kedah last year received a very positive response from consumers, with many keen to learn more about our local coffee farming initiative. This was how the idea of bringing consumers to our actual coffee farm came to life!”

“In line with this and as part of our commitment to connect with consumers through memorable experiences, we are excited to invite few happy Malaysians who are true coffee enthusiasts! The winners will be able to witness first-hand the great care and respect that goes into our NESCAFÉ Classic Kopi Kedah, particularly showcasing our coffee farmers who are growing the very coffee beans that are at the heart of this product. From meeting and interacting with our farmers, as well as trying their hand at planting, grafting, and harvesting coffee, this is an opportunity not to be missed. We look forward to seeing the creative postings in the coming weeks!” Chraibi added.

Contest participants will be judged based on a point-based system for their social media postings. These include Creativity and Expression, Caption and Audio & Visual Quality. The five participants with the highest points will be selected as winners, and will also be gifted a customised harvest, with a coffee plant named after them.

The latest limited-edition of the NESCAFÉ Classic Kopi Kedah is back in the same 170g aluminum tin can with a refreshed packaging design, retailing for RM23.02 RRP at major key retailers and selected local supermarkets and mini markets, as well as ecommerce stores including Lazada and Shopee from November 1 onwards.
