Best place to visit in Dalhousie – Panchpula

With its captivating valleys and gorgeous mountain views, Dalhousie is a treat for all travelers. Founded in the year 1854 by a viceroy, this cool hill retreat bears the same name as his. A quiet hill station, this place is quintessential for anyone who wants to escape from the hustle and bustle of their everyday lives.

Dalhousie is located in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh; anyone would be fascinated by the beautiful ambience that surrounds this serene hill station.

Best Time to Visit
Dalhousie is a year round destination and you can decide your trip accordingly. Here is a quick rundown of the climatic conditions that prevails in Dalhousie:
•March to May: The months of March, April and May is the time when summer prevails and it is quite pleasant to visit during this time of the year. Most tourists come to Dalhousie during this time since the temperature does not reach more than 30 degree Celsius and one can easily relax amidst nature.

•June to September: This is the time when the monsoon arrives at Dalhousie. Even though there is not much rain that occurs in this quaint town, mild showers can be quite common throughout. With the lush green forest drenched in rainwater, Dalhousie is a sight to behold during the monsoons. The evenings can get pretty cold during these months so make sure to pack your woolens!

•October to February: The weather gets pretty cold as the temperatures drop below freezing point. Since it is situated at an altitude of 2000m, you can expect snowfall in this beautiful town of Himachal.

About Panchpula and Things To Do In Panchpula
Panchpula is one of the most popular places in Dalhousie. You would find a number of pine and deodar trees in this place and admist all that the Sathdhara falls. The water found at the Sathdhara falls are supposed to have therapeutic properties since a number of the medicinal herbs get soaked in the water. This is a great place to have picnics and also serves as the starting point for a number of treks.

There are a number of different activities that you could engage in and you will feel the adrenaline pumping through your veins. You could take the Upper Bakrota Loop Walk or complete the long winding 14 km Khajjiar trek. If you plan on having a bit of adventure maybe you could try Zorbing at Khajjiar.

There are a number of places that you could visit around Panchpula. You could visit Ganji Pahadi and spend a chunk of your time gazing at the Himalayan beauty or visit the Subhash Baoli if you are a history buff. You could visit the St John Church or take your time to experience the splendor of the Kalatop wildlife sanctuary.

How to Travel to Dalhousie
You could travel from Delhi to Dalhousie which almost takes 12 hours to reach. You could also avail the overnight from Pathankot and then take the road to Dalhousie by car which takes up almost 3 hours.
