In the effort to enhance their community initiatives, 47 residents of Ann’s Care Centre were greeted by Kenny Rogers ROASTERS (KRR) in a heart-warming Chinese New Year celebration with Food Aid Foundation today to spread the joy of the festive season!
The elderly folks were entertained throughout the event with a myriad of fun activities by the KRR team members! The event started off with a lively karaoke sing-along session where everyone chanted and hummed from classic to popular favourites during the session. Among the songs, the senior citizens were then serenaded to a familiar folk song, Dengar Ini Cerita, a song by P. Ramlee.
“Seeing the smiles of the residents at Ann’s Care Centre really warmed the hearts of the KRR team and motivates us to strive further to make a bigger impact in our future initiatives. As healthy advocates, we are all aware on the importance to make wholesome accessible to everyone of all ages,” said Thila Chandran, Senior Marketing Manager of Berjaya Roasters (M) Sdn Bhd.
KRR also prepared a special Yee Sang tossing session during the event as part of the Malaysian tradition during Chinese New Year. To further add to the merriment, the elderly folks were given red packets and a KRR goodie bag consisting of balanced and wholesome food.
“As a food bank, we are moved by KRR’s commitment to provide wholesome meals to everyone of all ages. The years of collaborating with KRR have been a fruitful one as they help us end hunger by serving wholesome food which complements our mission very well,” said Mr. Rick Chee, founder of Food Aid Foundation.
To culminate the event, the elderly folks and caretakers were treated with 65 sets of Kenny’s Quarter Lite Meal and bottled water.
