For those who does not know, pepper is one of the highest traded commodity
in Sarawak. And if you are not aware, Malaysia have one of the good pepper and there are actually originated from India.

And Malaysia pepper is now exported to New Zealand, Australia, Korea, Philippines, Japan, North America, and many more countries.

And during our trip, we had a chance to visit the Pepper Vineyard where you can see how they grow the peppers. Each plants needs around 9 months to harvest.
We had learned that Black and white peppercorns are both the fruit of the same pepper plant, but are processed differently. Peppercorns are picked when they are almost ripe then sun-dried, turning the outer layer black.
To produce the white peppercorns, the outer layer is removed before drying, leaving only the inner seed: they are soaked in water which softens the shells and which is then removed.
Both the peppers are use in different cooking and as far as I know black pepper commonly used in western dining while white peppers are used in soup ( Asian dining) to bring the aromatic flavours.
And the prices of pepper differ from each other where black pepper will be at around RM 16 per kg and white pepper will be at RM 40 per kg.
And during the fruitful trip,we had learned on how the pepper is being grown and more.
