The Marriott Malaysia Business Council recently presented a cheque of RM42,000.00 to the Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF). On hand to receive the cheque from Business Council Chairman Mr. Robert Frager were Professor Dato’ Dr. Adeeba Kamarulzaman, Chairman of MAF and MAF Executive Director Encik Jasmin Jalil, witnessed by representatives from the Marriott Malaysia Business Council.

“This ‘Spirit To Serve Our Communities’ initiative aims towards ending AIDS in Malaysia, and every ringgit collected by the Malaysia Business Council on behalf of MAF will go a long way in making a difference to the lives of people living with HIV,” said Mr. Robert

Frager who is also the General Manager of Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel. He further added, “The generosity of our guests staying in our Marriott
Hotels throughout Malaysia as well as from our staff in contributing towards this campaign enables us to help and give back to the communities in which we operate via the various ‘Spirit To Serve’ initiatives all our hotels under the Malaysia Marriott Business Council organize throughout the year.”

Professor Dato’ Dr. Adeeba stated, “We at the Malaysian AIDS Foundation and the Malaysian AIDS Council have set our course towards ending AIDS by 2030.

In line with these goals we are determined to further reduce new HIV infections by 90% in the next decade. Though admittedly ambitious, we are optimistic that, with the support of our corporate partners such as the Marriott Malaysia Business Council, this goal is achievable. We are extremely grateful for this contribution, which will help us improve health outcomes of underprivileged men, women and children living with HIV and take us one step closer to ending AIDS in Malaysia.”

The Marriott Malaysia Business Council hotels which participated in this campaign are Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel, Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel, Renaissance Kota Bharu Hotel, JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur, The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya Marriott Hotel, Miri Marriott Resort & Spa and Mulu Marriott Resort & Spa.
