Editor Picks: Georgetown 1 Day Makan Trip from the Locals

July 22, 2016 by StrawberrY Gal

Penang is a heaven of food and many will be thinking where to eat inPenang if I am going for a trip there. Being a heaven of food, you can find almost 24 hours from day to night and venturing streets arts and more. This round, we will be covering what to eat in  Georgetown

Loh Bak @ Kheng Pin Café
No one will say no to the Loh Bak at Kheng Pin Café. The loh bak usually comes with a combination of a few fried items. I am always falling in love with fried items where here I usually get the prawn fritters, the lo bak and more and all of it is sinfully delicious. The loh bak was crispy on the outside and the meat was well marinated, tender and juicy.

(Kheng Pin Café is located in Penang city center, just a few minutes walk from Cititel Hotel. This Café is situated at the junction of Penang Road and Sri Bahari Road)

Koay Teow Soup @ Soon Yuen Café
Next go for with some koay teow soup at Chowrasta Market and we recommend this as you can venture the market and enjoy more other food around here. Some of the good ones include the stall in  Kimberly Street or even Hutton Lane. This are few good ones which I often hopped to whenever I am Penang. And why so, because Chowrasta Market and Kimberly Street uses the duck based soup and do order their fishballs. Why? They are bouncy and good.

Chee Cheong Fun @ Soon Yuen Café
The Sister Chee Cheong Fan in Soon Yuen Café fare a good mark too. The chee cheung fan with the sweet sauce and the prawn sauce is a superb. And what I love is they are not stingy on the sauce itself.
