A MEANINGFUL BUKA PUASA FOR MAHSURI AND ITS MASAK DAN MENANG WINNERS

June 29, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

In conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan which emphasises on reflection and good deeds, 8 winners of Week 3 and Week 4 of the Masak dan Menang contest organised by Mahsuri participated in a meaningful Buka Puasa event held at Rumah Kebajikan Baitul Hidayah in Petaling Jaya.

The residents of the homes were treated to a delicious Buka Puasa spread cooked using Mahsuri sauces. After that, the children had a hearty laugh at the antics of the clown who came along with the Mahsuri crew and played games such as Musical Chairs, Balloon Bop and Mahsuri Treasure Hunt where winners are rewarded with gifts and hampers.

“The children’s laughter is music to our ears. We are so blessed and we take many things that we have in our daily lives for granted. Being here to spend quality time with the children and sharing the Buka Puasa experience is definitely more meaningful to us and to the children. Being a Malay-centric brand that values the teachings of Islam, we strive to continuously give back to the society, more so during the holy month of Ramadan.” said Carmen Liew, Marketing Director of Mahsuri.

“It is a good experience for us to remind us of what we do have and that happiness is not derived from material goods. Look at how happy the children are with the games and clowns. I think they really do appreciate our presence and having to experience this festive cheer with so many of us. To me, being able to make these kids happy is an even bigger ‘prize’ to me than what I received from the contest,” said Hidayat Bin Masduki, winner for week 1.

A total of 24 winners, who will each take home RM500 for their sumptuous Buka Puasa creations using Mahsuri products, will visit a total of four welfare homes together with Mahsuri employees throughout the contest period, namely Pusat Jagaan Rumah Kesayangan (20th June), Rumah Kebajikan Baitul Hidayah (27th June), Pusat Jagaan Cahaya Kasih Bestari (4th July) and Rumah Nur Sakinah (11th July).

The Masak dan Menang contest which is running from 28th May to 8th July 2015 invites home cooks to share a snapshot of their delicious Buka Puasa creations whipped up using Mahsuri products on the MyMahsuri Facebook page with hastags #MyMahsuri and #Manis / #Pedas  / #Tiram / #Ayam.
