RAMA V @ JALAN U THANT OFF JALAN TUN RAZAK

December 31, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

Experience the gracious elegance that is Rama V. A Thai Restaurant set amongst a magnificent pool of lotus blossoms, quietly tucked away from the busy district of Kuala Lumpur. At Rama V we offer you a dining experience that is without question one of Malaysia’s most enjoyable and unique.
rama v
Since its inception in 1995, Rama V has been recognized with a string of awards. Amongst a few to mention, Rama V was rated one of Malaysia’s best restaurant by Malaysia Tatler’s Magazine for several years; a recommended restaurant by Expatriate Lifestyle magazine; and most recently, Rama V achieved the Top Food 40 status by Time Out Kuala Lumpur.

As we walked in to the restaurant, we are greeted with a smile and Thai greetings. Led to our sitting, the restaurant is indeed bringing us an elegant setting which is not to be missed.

We started off with the lovely appetizers where it is the Rattanakasin Platter (RM 98) where the huge awesome platter is completed with the variety of temptations inclusive of the Tod Mun Pla, Pla Poo Nim Tod, Kai Satay, Popiah Tods, Popiah Sod Ped, Popiah Sod Kung, Kai Todoga Krob, and also Som Tom.
rama v
Served next is the Grilled Duck with Lemongrass Salad. The duck is well grilled till perfection, leaving us with the moist texture and the fragrant taste from the lemon grass. The duck is well done with the moist texture and the way it served is so awesomely good.
rama v
Comes next is the Gaeng Kiawloo Chin Pla Yad Sai Khai Kern (RM 28). The fish paste is being wrapped with the Salted Egg Yolk and cooked till perfectionist in the thick curry paste. It is simply good where the savory blend of the fish paste with the light saltiness from the egg yolk is amazingly good.
rama v
Nicely done beef, the Neur Kra Ta Ron where the awesomely well done beef meat which is being marinated and cooked and served with the hot plate. The beef brings us with the honey blend of delights with the light sweetness in it. I love how it is made with the moist and yet with the hint of sweetness in it. Nice.
rama v
As for the Yam Thai Wie (RM 24) which is the Ancient Thai Salad. The thai salad comes simpl special compare to those normal salad like the mango salad and more. Served with light spiciness, the Thai Salad is served with egg, chicken breast meat and crushed freshly roast peanuts. Nicely done with the taste of spiciness in it.

rama v
Prawn Lover would not say “NO” to this. The Kud Pad Met Ma Meung (RM 38) is well done and not too spicy. It’s tiger prawn is being stir fried together with the cashew nut and dried chily with it. Not leaving us with the pipping hot spiciness, the prawns remains at its freshness too.
rama v
One of the exciting dish we had is the Kai Yad Sai Kra Pao (RM 35) where the western Thai combination dishes is done by the chicken roulade. The chicken roulade with the moist chicken breast meat is being breaadcrumbs and deep fried till perfection. Wrapped with the spinach and other vegetables, it is topped with the pipping spicy thai sauce which brings us with the great hot spiciness in it. Nice one.
rama v
Neur San Nai Yang Kab Sos Gaeng Kai Neen (RM 52) is simply good where the Australian Tenderloin is well served with the thick and fragrant green curry sauce with it. The sauce wasn’t too spicy but the taste is as awesome as it is .
rama v
Ended with the Pla Kra Pong Yang Ma Meung (RM 65) . The dancing seaboass was indeed a good one where it is being deep fried till perfection and then topped with the mango salad with it. With the flaky meat, the seabass remains its moist and yet so nice.
rama v
Being in a Thai restaurant, you would never say no to desserts to end your meal. The deliciously done desserts is not disappointing us where we had the mango sticky rice. The glutionous rice with the coconut milk is served with the half cut mango is so good where its moist texture glutionous rice with the sweet mango just made a perfect match.
rama v
This is a good one where the cooling Thab Thin Krob is being served together with the coconut milk with the crunchy chessnut in it and also the slices of jackfruit with it.
