MEE SOTONG & COCONUT SHAKE @ PADANG KOTA LAMA FOOD COURT

Famed for the Mee Sotong; I had hear of it many times and being that I visited them during my trip back to Penang. The stall is located within the food court directly next to Fort Cornwallis, a stone’s throw away from Penang Jetty. Located inside the food court; you will assured to see lining ups in ordering the Mee Sotong and sometimes you need to take your noodles on your own too.

Well, a plate of mee sotong costs between RM 4 to RM 6 dependings on the add ons you love to add in it. We had ordered a Mee Sotong and another is the Mee Rebus. Mee Sotong here is not the dry version but it served very wet, and comes with your usual mee goreng ingredients, but with plenty of squid in it. The mee sotong comes simply spicy but it is so good which I give two thumbs up.

As for the Mee Rebus, it is not as nice as the Mee Sotong though. It is spicy but the broth is too thick to me. It’s ingredient is similar to the mee sotong but it’s taste is not as nice as I expected.

Well, you can order coconut shake to accompany with your mee sotong too. But, the coconut shake is not something to shout about as I still prefer the coconut shake in Klembeng, Malacca instead of here.
