BLACK MARKET @ MAINPLACE

September 26, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

BLACK MARKET, MAINPLACE
Run by the same owner of  Caffeinees, the new brand : Black Market had opened its 3rd outlet this year here in MainPlace; a new mall stones away from One City Shopping Centre. The Spanish Restaurant with the name “Black Market” had its way in attracting the crowd with those catchy name.

– The Interior Deco-

Black Market at the first glance exudes style and true with its name; it is well decorated with the classy black furniture with the dark romantic ambience which had killed the hearts of many include myself. I just love the elegant touch of the restaurant where each item is picked carefully and matched to the overall environment. The restaurant offers us with the quality delights which will definite to amaze you.
BLACK MARKET, MAINPLACE
Graciously presented on the table, the Truffle Potato Salad and Pork Bacon (RM22) is simply awesome. The huge platter of salad with the greenies topped with a scope of home-made potatoes with the truffle on top. Together with it is the tiny strips of pork bacon accompanying the wholesome salad. The salad is definitely two thumbs up where every mouthful brings the fragrance of the truffle hidden within.
BLACK MARKET, MAINPLACE
As for the Spanish Platter  (RM 38) where the cold cuts comprised chorizo and chorizo sarta, jamon Iberico, and fresh, juicy rock melon arcs are served beautifully. The portion is kinda huge but attractively tempted. The sausages were slightly spicy and ham comes moderate salty. It mix a good match when wrapping them with the melon which give a balance of saltiness and sweetness in it. It is just awesome!
BLACK MARKET, MAINPLACE
As for the Presca (RM 68); the air flown Spanish iberico pork neck which is highly prized in the market. It’s meat comes darker than a white pig and it is highly marbled. In Black Market it is well grilled to “medium” done with the imported charcoal below with some greenies with it. The dish is so awesome where every bites of the meat is simply juicy and tender.
BLACK MARKET, MAINPLACE
The VIP’s Oriental Scampi Baked Rice (RM 78) sitting graciously on the table is simply eye-catching and beautifully done. Created by the group of founder of Black Market who is the highly respected CEO from Hong Kong; the scampi baked rice is indeed gaining the much attraction of all. Allowing 25 minutes to cook; the scampi baked rice comes with the moist and flavoourful rice. Not just that, the scampi meat is indeed super-licious where each mouthful of the meat comes juicy and sweet.
BLACK MARKET, MAINPLACE
For a kick of spiciness, try the Black Scallop Pasta (RM 38) where the squid ink spaghetti are being served with the spicy balsamic sauce together with the pluppy scallops with it. Cooked al-dente, the spaghetti is well done but for me, the noodles comes very spicy due to the spicy balsamic sauce which is being used.
BLACK MARKET, MAINPLACE
Looks plain, but the Five Star Truffle Egg Linguine (RM 33) is one of the signature in Black Market. The linguine is served in white sauce, topped with the black truffle pate, egg and parmigiano, reggianno and real parmesan. It’s taste brings a heavenly blend of temptations with the creamy and flavourful taste which is from the egg and the black truffle. Every munch is heavenly.
BLACK MARKET, MAINPLACE
Not forgetting, the signature of Black Market is the Black Market Big ‘S’ Pork Ribs (RM 46) where the portion comes pretty huge. The pork ribs comes with succulent meat and it is topped with their signature sauce “black” sauce with it. Oven roasted till perfection; the taste is irrestible and it’s finger lickering good till every bites. The sauce comes moderately salty and yet not too salty; just nice to my preference.
BLACK MARKET, MAINPLACE
I am captured now by the sweet presentation of the B’iramisu(RM 16) where the tiramisu comes well served on the bunny bowl which is simply adorable. The B’iramisu is well done with the infused of the Illy Coffee Liqueur which is one of my favorite and it brings a nice coffee blended taste in it with the spongy texture.
BLACK MARKET, MAINPLACE
For chocolate lover, a must to order here would be the Chocolate Lava with Ice Cream where the chocolate cake comes with the oozing running goodness which is perfectly melts in the mouth. Well, it us best eaten while it s warm and accompanied with it is a side of vanilla ice cream which made a good combination
