BLOOM YOUR MID AUTUMN FESTIVAL WITH INTERCONTINENTAL KL 2014

Bloom into Mid-Autumn Festival and indulge in lunar luxuries by award-winning Tao Chinese Cuisine exquisite mooncake collection available from 20 July to 8 September priced at RM20+ per piece onwards. This time, Intercontinental comes with their new lucious golden packaging is simply attractive. This year, the restaurant raises the bar as the purveyor of the perennial delicacies; striking blends of flavour from modern infusion of fresh fruits to traditional ingredients, encased in golden baked skin or crystal snowskin. Each piece has been carefully handcrafted by Dim Sum Chef Lo Tian Sion famed for his delicate skills and innovative creation.

Tao Chinese Cuisine repertoire of classic baked mooncakes starts from RM24+ per piece and include. Those with a penchant for traditional baked mooncake, the Glory of Moon Collection (風光齊月) priced at RM118+ comes with new choices of White Lotus Paste with Single Egg Yolk, Pure White Lotus Paste with Nuts, Almond Skin with Pandan Paste and Single Yolk and Black Sesame Paste, and Assorted Seeds packed in a mesmerising cherry blossom wooden box.
INTERCON
For the baked skin mooncake, we are presented with the beautiful golden box which comes with 4 choices of mooncake and also a bottle of their signature Homemade Spicy Sun-dried Scallop Sauce (洲際自製極品醬) and special blend of Tao Black Tea (金芽“桃”紅茶). This year, Tao comes up with their best seller White Lotus Paste with Single Egg Yolk (單黃白蓮蓉月餅); White Lotus Paste with Double Egg Yolks (雙黃白蓮蓉月餅); Pure White Lotus Paste with Nuts (欖仁白蓮蓉月餅); Assorted Nut Paste with Chicken Ham (鳳凰伍仁蓉月餅) and new enticing flavours enriched with local touch such as sweet and fragrant pandan paste complemented by nutty richness from the Almond Skin with Pandan Paste and Single Yolk (雪山翡翠單黃月餅); and Black Sesame Paste and Assorted Seeds (黑芝麻果仁月餅) with an aromatic and stronger flavour profile. I tasted the Black Sesame which is very special and for those black sesame lover , you will give a two thumbs up where the mooncake is complete with the creamy blend of sesame which is having a distinct taste. It is a double thumbs up.
INTERCON
For the White Lotus Paste with Single Egg Yolk ; it comes pretty awesome with the creamy and moist egg yolk. Overall, I would give double thumbs up on the mooncake. What’s more? Enjoy them with their signature black tea that gives a refreshing blend. I just enjoy them as it is and it’s a nice thing that the hotel includes a bottle of tea.

As for the snowskin collection is a refreshing series of colourful delights with a punch of modern infusion. Encased in beautiful crystal like exterior, mix and match from the eight variants starting from RM20+ per piece with choices of Mini Snow Skin with Pandan Paste with Single Yolk (迷你冰皮班蘭單黃月餅); Mini Beet Root Snow Skin with Red Date Paste and Egg Cream (迷你鴛鴦冰皮熟地紅棗奶皇月餅); Mini Peanut Butter Snow Skin with Salted Bean Paste, Rice Crunch and Pistachio (迷你冰皮花生豆蓉米糠果仁月餅); Mini Blueberry Snow Skin with Kiwi Bean Paste and Dried Mix Fruits (迷你鴛鴦冰皮藍莓奇異果干月餅); Mini Dark Chocolate Snow Skin with White Chocolate Paste and Nut (迷你巧克力冰皮豆仁白巧克力月餅); Mini Green Tea Paste with Single Egg Yolk (迷你冰皮綠茶單黃月餅); Mini Snow Skin Durian Moon Cake (迷你冰皮麥香榴槤月餅); Mini Snow Skin with Ginseng Mixed Nuts Paste and Bird’s Nest (迷你冰皮人參果仁燕窩月餅). Tingle the tastebuds with a unique experience as the Blossom of Autumn Collection (春花秋月) priced at RM198+ features eight exotic flavours of each snowskin variety in a beautiful box.

Known to be one of the largest mooncake sold in the city, the 7 Star Premium Collection (七星伴月) priced at RM298+ per box is back this year by popular demand. Made for sharing with cherished company, enjoy this colossal mooncake of Baked Egg Yolk Cream with Black Sesame Salted Bean Paste (奶皇黑芝麻綠豆沙月餅) surrounded by seven tantalising mini mooncakes of Mini White Lotus Paste with Single Egg Yolk (迷你單黃白蓮蓉月餅); Mini White Lotus Paste (迷你欖仁白蓮蓉月餅); Mini Black Sesame Paste and Assorted Seeds (迷你黑芝麻果仁月餅); Mini Almond Skin with Pandan Paste and Single Yolk (迷你雪山翡翠單黃月餅); Mini Assorted Nut Paste with Chicken Ham (迷你鳳凰伍仁蓉月餅); Mini Red Bean Paste and Sunflower Seeds (迷你紅豆沙瓜子月餅) and Mini Green Tea Paste with Single Yolk (迷你綠茶單黃月餅).
