FORMULA 1 ROADSHOW KICKS OFF AT QUEENSBAY MALL

Event: Formula 1 Roadshow Kicks Off at Queensbay Mall
Date: 27 February – 2 March 2014
Time: 10.30am-10.30pm
Venue: GF Centre Atrium & 1F Centre Zone, Queensbay Mall

In anticipation of the upcoming GP Sales, shoppers and fans will satiate their appetite for speed, power and performance as we go car-zy at Queensbay Mall with a host of extensive adrenalin-pumping activities, which will occupy the mall’s Ground Floor, Central Atrium and First Floor, Center Zone this weekend from 27 February to 2 March 2014.

2014 Formula 1 PETRONAS Malaysian Grand Prix Roadshow
27 February–2 March, Central Atrium, Ground Floor

Shoppers on the Pearl of Orient will have the opportunity to get closer to the heart of F1 experience at Queensbay Mall during the four-day 2014 Formula 1 PETRONAS Malaysian Grand Prix Roadshow. Both kids and adults will be mesmerised by the 3D cinema experience, live-sized F1 racing car display, racing podium photo corner, access to the One Ticket Unlimited rewards programme and a round of the hugely popular F1 Simulator Challenge.

Fans who purchase F1 tickets at the roadshow will enjoy a 50% discount and stand a chance to win a Nissan Almera NISMO valued at RM92,000 in a nationwide simulator contest, which will conclude at Sepang International Circuit on 29 March 2014.

“F1 Mania” Pose & Win Contest
F1 fans can also show off their love for the game and win a share of RM4,000 worth of Formula 1 PETRONAS Malaysia Grand Prix tickets. Participants are required to dress up to the F1 theme (racing jacket, racing helmet, gloves, etc), strike a pose at the 2014 Formula 1 PETRONAS Malaysian Grand Prix Roadshow on GF Central Atrium, Queensbay Mall and share their photos on Queensbay Mall’s Facebook Fan Page (http://facebook.com/queensbaymall).

Contest runs from 27 Feb 2014 (10.30am) until 2 March 2014 (10.00pm). Winners will be announced and notified on Monday, 10 March 2014.

4 x Grand Prizes: Two Citrine Grandstand tickets (worth RM680 per pair)
4 x Consolation Prizes: Two C2 Hillstand tickets (worth RM320 per pair)

Mini 4WD Challenge
1 & 2 March, Centre Zone, 1st Floor

“It was more than just cars for the grownups. We also have car events and toys for the little ones with Mini 4WD Carnival. It is the spirit of fair game that we revved up the weekend with excitement to keep shoppers’ hearts racing with non-stop pulsating activities,” said Wendy Wong, Marketing Communications Manager of Queensbay Mall. “And we are glad shoppers had a great time and the turnout was overwhelming.”

Mini 4WD Fun Race, 1 Mar (Sat), 2.00pm–6.00pm
The Mini 4WD Fun Race is almost comparable to the Mini 4WD Championship with similar regulations of only unmodified Tamiya Sprint Dash, Mach Dash or Hyper Dash motors, operating on Panasonic Evolta AA batteries are allowed. The race will see participants having a little more fun and less battle-tension competing for time attack. The top three winners will receive a medal and a hamper each worth RM50.

Mini 4WD Display Competition, 2 Mar (Sun), 1.00pm–6.00pm
Only Tamiya-branded cars, motors and spare parts are allowed to enter the Mini 4WD Display Competition. The cars on display for the competition are expected to be mind-blowing, where the top three winners will be rewarded with a trophy and hamper worth RM50 each.

Mini 4WD Championship, 2 Mar (Sun), 1.00pm–6.00pm
Hyping up the intense speed challenge track meet will be some Mini 4WD enthusiasts with their prized racers, in hope to vie for the Championship The afternoon will be heated up with fun and fair games for all participants as the regulations specified that only unmodified Tamiya Sprint Dash, Mach Dash or Hyper Dash motors, operating on Panasonic Evolta AA batteries are allowed.

The Champion will steer home prizes worth over RM400, consisting of a Tamiya Mini 4WD Car, Tamiya Mini 4WD Motor, trophy, medal, hamper and shopping vouchers.

The Second Prize and Third Prize Winners each will receive prizes worth RM300 and RM200 respectively, consisting of a Tamiya Mini 4WD Car, Tamiya Mini 4WD Motor, medal, hamper and shopping vouchers.

Car Hobbyist Carnival
1 & 2 March, Centre Zone, 1st Floor

For new and existing toy car hobbyists, the carnival will present over 100 toy cars on displays and collectible for sale. Shoppers who purchase their Mini 4WD Cars during the carnival will enjoy a complimentary kit installation and tune-up assistance to aid them in getting started.

Mini Simulator Challenge, 1 & 2 Mar (Sat & Sun), 2.00pm–6.00pm 
With a single receipt of RM50 from any outlet in Queensbay Mall (except banks, money changers, temporary vendors and any form of top-ups, reloads and bill payments), shoppers will get a chance to show off their racing skill at the Mini Simulator Challenge. The top four winners with the fastest time will each win a pair of C2 Hillstand Formula 1 PETRONAS Malaysia Grand Prix tickets (worth RM320). Winners will be announced and notified on Monday, 3 March 2014.

Car Decals Contest, 1 & 2 Mar (Sat & Sun), 2.00pm–4.00pm 
The Car Decals Contest will be held for children aged 5-12 years old to pimp up their creativity in decorating their vehicles with colour pencils. Divided into two categories – A (5-8 years old) and B (9 – 12 years old), one Best Design Winner from each category will win RM100 worth of prizes. Winners would be announced and notified on Monday, 10 March 2014.
