MAISON FRANCAISE @ CHANGKAT KIA PENG

July 25, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

Maison Francaise, The French house which is located just 5 minutes from the city is simply a great place to visit. The dreamy white coloured bungalow elegantly standing with the classy look had converted to a restaurant. The view is impressively beautiful with a swimming pool and the Twin Tower.

After valet-ing our car inside the compound for a mere RM10; walk in to the restaurant we were well greeted with a smile and we were led to our sits. The dining room was reminiscent of the great rooms with a little less focus on the white linen and more of comfort, throwing pretentiousness out the window. The place is simply beautiful and filled with the elegant touch and I had fall in love with the place. Love at the first sight!

The food here comes authentic – Classic French with the modern twist. The restaurant under the helm of the Executive Chef, Franck Lamache, who has worked in many renowned outlets such as 3-Michelin stars Crillion Hotel in Paris, Alain Ducasse and Le taillevent, just to name a few. He has also previously worked as a private chef for the President of Kazakhstan. The restaurant holds a delightful large menu with a wide range of selection of appetizers and mains which holds an upper end pricing in town.

Eufbrouilleau caviar de France’ Aquitaine.

My sight fell to the 10g premium caviar from France which is being topped on top of the silky smooth scrambled egg which looks pretty exciting with a hefty price tag of RM 220.00. The scramble egg is so good and the texture is smooth and melts in the mouth with the light buttery taste with it. The taste is so awesome which I give double thumb up after the first bite.

Les langoustines de Bretagne en carpaccio ,huile d’olive et citron, fleur de carpres ceufs de saumon. (RM 109++)

Served elegantly, the seared langoustine caroaccio is being served together with the lemon juiuce olive oil, salmon rie and capers. Well marinated langoustines with the chewy bites and complete with the freshness taste. Laid ontop with the fish roe, which give us a great sensation where the roe burst within our mouth with the refreshing flavours. Decorated ontop with the rocket leaves.

Le fillet de cabillaud d’ Alaska cuit Aufour, rizotta l’encre de seiche et coulis de pequillo (RM 99++)

The mains were up next: The Baked Black Cod Fish flying all the way from Alaska is being baked till perfection with their signature sauce and served on top of a bed of squid ink risotto and capsicum sauce with it. Cooked to perfection, the fish remains its flaky and moist texture. Paired with the squid ink risotto, the dish was wonderfully fresh.

Fillet de boeuf grille’ sauce ala chalote (Grilled Beef Tenderloin with Shalot Sauce): RM 118++

The tender tenderloin beef was such compliments to us. The meat is perfectly cooked to order so you can have your rare or medium rare the way natural indeed. The meat is tender, succulent, melt-in –the mouth good surely, it’s one of the nicest steak, we had. Aside, the sauce compliments well and we are please with the awesome food.

maison francaise
L’entremet pina colada et glacage a la mangue (RM 35++)

Never ends your meal with the desserts. The Pina-colada entremets topped with mango gelee is perfectly indulging. Melts in the mouth pina colada with the chocolate coated strawberry, the taste is so good which I give double thumbs up. It was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal.
Maison Francaise claims to be KL’s most authentic French restaurant – after this night, I had no doubt as to why.
