Eat All You Can Dim Sum @ Lai Ching Yuen, Grand Millennium Hotel KL

For those who are a big fans of dim sum, is time to head to Lai Ching Yuen. Lai Ching Yuen, located at Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur, is renowned for its authentic and sophisticated Cantonese cuisine, crafted by a team of experienced chefs who specialize in dim sum. 

This time, we sampled their brand-new revamped Dim Sum Buffet menus, catering to both weekday indulgence and weekend celebrations. These new menus encapsulate the essence of traditional Hong Kong culinary artistry, promising a delightful gastronomic journey through exquisite flavors and impeccable craftsmanship.

Lai Ching Yuen’s Dim Sum Buffet menus have been carefully curated to delight discerning palates with a wide selection of Hong Kong-inspired delicacies, meticulously crafted by a team of chefs headed by Chef Thye Yoon Kong, a seasoned expert with over 30 years of experience in Cantonese cuisine and Dim Sum specialties. The team ensures that each dish reflects the true essence of dim sum craftsmanship, combining authentic ingredients, delicate techniques, and balanced flavor profiles.

“Dim sum embodies the art of handcraftsmanship, demanding exceptional skills and years of practice. With our enhanced Dim Sum Buffet menus, featuring 20 new dishes, we aim to offer our guests a comprehensive experience of the Dim Sum culture that I have deeply immersed myself in throughout my career,” said Chef Thye Yoon Kong.

Exquisite Dim Sum Creations

We started off with their awesome-licious dim sum buffet menu featuring with the wide selection of Hong Kong Inspired delights where they have  a variety of delights where one can pamper tehmself. In here, one can enjoy their savoury classics such as the steamed dumplings with succulent fillings, crispy spring rolls, and pan-fried buns with salted fish. 

Others includes steamed siew mai with fish roe, crystal prawn dumpling, deep fried fish balls with garlic, steamed glutinous rice with Chinese sausage and chicken, steamed lotus past buns with egg yolk,  steamed custard bun with egg yolk, traditional sponge cake and many more. 

Asides from the steamed varieties, they do have the fried and baked items in their list too. This is where one can enjoy the Deep-Fried bean Curd Roll with Shrimps, Deep-Fried Yam Puff, Wok Fried Turnip Cake, Pan Fried Nian Gao and many more.

The wok-fried options, including the ‘Bei Fong Tong’-style Chicken, elevate the dining experience, while the silky steamed rice rolls, including the Steamed Rice Rolls with Shrimp, offer a delightful treat for the palate.  Also they have the porridge with bonito fish and peanuts in their list as well as a variety of steamed rice rolls. 

In addition to the existing favorites, Lai Ching Yuen introduces 20 new dim sum varieties to elevate the dining experience. The Crispy Fish Skin with Salted Egg Yolk boasts an addictive crunch and rich flavors, while the Braised Rice with Seafood provides ultimate comfort with a hearty experience that warms the soul.

Chef Kong also offers weekend and public holiday specials exclusively crafted for these occasions, including the luxurious Steamed Siew Mai with Mini Abalone and the creamy and fragrant Baked Durian Puff, available in limited quantity.

Lai Ching Yuen offers its Dim Sum Buffet menus on weekdays and weekends. The Weekday Dim Sum Buffet is available from Tuesday to Friday, from 12 pm to 3 pm, and cost RM88++ per adult, RM58++ per child (5 to 12 years old) and senior citizen. The Weekend & Public Holiday Dim Sum Buffet runs on Saturday to Sunday and Public Holidays, from 11 am to 3 pm, and cost RM108++ per adult, RM78++ per child (5 to 12 years old) and senior citizen.
