Putien @ 1 Utama : Tasty, Simple & Heart-warming Comfort Food

October 28, 2016 by StrawberrY Gal

The PUTIEN brand traces its roots to its namesake city of Putian – a beautiful coastal suburb in Fujian, with rich cultural history and storied tradition since its settlement over almost one and a half millennium ago. It is, after all, the birthplace of the goddess Mazu and the fabled Southern Shaolin Kungfu, among many other legendary tales.
And being that, the restaurant had grown and won the ONE STA MICHELIN AWARD for its Kitchener Road Outlet by the inaugural MICHELIN guide 2016. And this year,  Putien celebrated its 16th Anniversary together with their MICHELIN archievement and gala dinner here in 1 Utama. During this occcation, we are served with the signature menu from Putien as well as the New Dishes as well.

Seaweed with Mini Shrimps
Enjoy the mouthful of delights where one can enjoy the best texture and nutrient of the seaweed and in here hey use 15 mm long top grade first harvest seaweed that is harvested within 30 days of cultivation. It is then being tossed with the quality mini shrimps which is imported from the South China Sea region and every mouthful brings me with the delightful and refreshing experience.
Braised Bamboo Shots
Enjoy their signature dish which is the Bamboo Shots. This is where the Bamboo shoots smoked in slow fire, then braised for a savoury finish. The dish is simply good and I love the sweet bites of the bamboo shots.
Putien Style Century Egg
One of the signature of Putien, enjoy the century egg which is encrusted in a thin butter, fried and then being tossed with their speciality sauce. The century egg brings you with the light sweet and sour taste. Just perfectly good dish to enjoy!

Braised Putien Homemade Bean Curd
Those who love bean curd, you are assured that you will definitely falling in love with it. The homemade bean curd is being braised till perfection leaving you with the savoury taste every little bites.
(NEW) “Yan Pi” Fish Maw Soup
Enjoy the hearty bowl of soup which is served with the “yan pi” and fish maw in it. “Yan Pi” is a swallow skin made from ground lean pork, potato and flour, rolled into flat sheets and dried in the sun.  And in Putien, the soup comes simply nourishing and filled with the clean flavours in it. The soup is perfectly delicious and good.

(NEW) Stir Fried Seaweed
Love how the seaweed is done. Served in strips just like pan mee, the seaweed comes awesomely good with the springy texture. Nice.
Shredded Meat with Bun
The tender shredded pork with sweet onions is well stir fried till perfection. Then, stuffed them in their handmade golden sesame bun. It brings you with the juicy textures of the meat itself and I am loving how their signature bun in done.
(NEW) Strawberry Prawn
Aside from their Lychee Chicken is the signature in Putien, enjoy the Strawberry prawn where the prawn is light coated and deep fried till golden brown. It is then being stir fried with their home blend strawberry sauce with it leaving you with the light sourish taste.
Deep Fried Yellow croaker (Seasonal)
Available in season, enjoy the yellow croaker which is being deep fried till crispy. The fish is just so good and pretty addictive too.
Putien Lor Mee
One must enjoy is also their Loh Mee. Enjoy the Silky Putian noodles with pork belly, prawn and clam braised in a luscious pork broth. It is just a perfect enjoyment especially the flavourful taste of it. Just tasty as it it and worth for a try!

Chilled Lemongrass with Fruits
Ends your meal of course with the delicious desserts. Lemongrass jelly topped with mixed fruits such as watermelon and dragonfruit. Every spoonful is as refreshing and not sweet! Just a perfect ending!
