SOPRANO ITALIAN –GERMAN RESTAURANT & PIANO BAR @ OLD KLANG ROAD

April 19, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

Located in NewCom Club and Lounge, Soprano brings you with their Italian German cuisine. It is not hard to locate the restaurant where it is along Old Klang Road and diaginally opposite the Pearl Internation Hotel. Convenient location with ample parking space and huge space in the restaurant, having an event here is not a problem.
saporno
Soprano also have a stage where live bands performs on weekdays and an open-karaoke session for the diners on Sunday! So if you’re an avid fan of live performances, entertainment and food, do hop over to The Soprano’s!.

Headed by an experience Chef, Sergio Ev hails from Sicily, but he has both Italian & Austrian blood making him versatile in cooking both Italian and German cuisine. What famed about the restaurant is the restaurant made their own pasta, freshly baked bread, pizzas and much more.
saporno
Blue Marine Cocktail (RM26) which is being served elegantly on the table comes with the bouncy prawn cocktail which is topped with the thousand island sauce, fresh cherry tomatoes, a lemon wedge and lettuce. The light and yet delicious cocktail comes awesomely delicious

Linguine al Cartoccio served next where the freshly made linguine is cooked with the light cherry tomato sauce with sliced garlic and Italian parsley alongside fresh seafood which includes scallops, prawns, squid and mussels. Served in white backed foil. The pasta is indeed well cooked and done, al-dente with scrumptious fresh seafood which give a two thumbs up.

We are also being served with their daily homemade bread – Casateilo which is soft fluffy bread with the egg, and bacon in it.

Served next is their signature Chargrilled King Tiger Prawns (RM 42.00) . Deliciously plump, juicy, tender and flavour king prawns which is well chargrilled and topped with some capers and garlic sauce alongside fresh salad. The dish comes simply appetizing and flavourful with the light zestiness infused in it.

In Saprano, try their Impereriale Pizza (RM 32) where the pizza is served with the bell peppers, onions, Italian sausages, red and yellow bell peppers and the seasoned grilled vegetables with it. It is topped on the delicious tomato based and finished with the mozzarella cheese and oregano. The pizza comes pretty unique but it is slightly oily to my preference.
saporno
Try their Agnello arrosto alla Trapanese (RM 48.00) where he chargrilled lamb chop is served with chef’s homemade smashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Topped with the choice of black pepper sauce, mushroom or Bearnaise sauce. We had them grilled at medium rare where the New Zealand Imported Lamb comes with the complete juiciness in it and without and gammy taste in it.
saporno
Baverwurst (RM 39) ; German delicacies is served next. A huge platter of german sausages is served together with the mashed potatoes, Sauerkraut’s bacon and also German Mustard.
saporno
Desserts ends our tummy the night. Chef serves us with the unique desserts – Cassata Sircilana Gelato (RM 16.00) where you can enjoy the sweet and refreshing homemade vanilla and pistachio ice cream is served with the freshly chopped pistachio nuts and fruot. Topped with the fresh strawberry sauce on top.

For those who are looking for a decent dining with live performance, Soprano is indeed a place to go.
