Elmina Lakeside Mall Brings Colour, Arts and Community to First Anniversary Celebration

August 9, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

Elmina Lakeside Mall, the second wholly-owned mall by Sime Darby Property Berhad, is pulling all the stops for its first anniversary. From 1 August to 1 September 2025, the mall will host a vibrant month-long celebration featuring an eclectic mix of arts, culture and community-driven activities, headlined by the internationally acclaimed Swiss Dream Circus.

Featuring an all-new cast and production, the Switzerland-based circus returns to Malaysian shores with a spectacular showcase of exceptional acrobats, aerialists and performers, delivering up to 10 breathtaking acts. This year’s edition titled ‘Passion – The Greatest Show in Town’ features standout performer Misha, a star clown from Cirque du Soleil, and a 14-member troupe delivering a total of 27 shows from 1 to 24 August 2025.

Tickets to experience the magic of the Swiss Dream Circus start at RM49 and are now available for booking at: https://letresor.sales.ticketsearch.com/sales/salesevent/150649.

Visitors can enjoy exclusive rewards through two limited-time Gift with Purchase (“GWP”) promotions. From now until 31 July 2025, shoppers who spend a minimum of RM150 in two combined receipts (excluding Harvey Norman, Machines and Jaya Grocer), or RM500 in two combined receipts from these selected stores, can redeem a free Category 1 premiere ticket to the spectacular Swiss Dream Circus show on 1 August. Separately, until 10 August, customers who spend at least RM100 in two combined receipts may redeem a 10% discount promo code for Category 3 tickets and above at the concierge counter.

In addition to the Swiss Dream Circus, visitors can look forward to a variety of engaging activities throughout the month. On 2 August, the mall will host a life-sized Monopoly Run, with three race categories to suit every age group: a competitive 10km run (ages 16+), a 5km fun run (ages 13+), and a 2km kids dash (ages 12 and below). Participants can look forward to a unique blend of fitness and fun, themed around the iconic board game.

For fans of the arts, the final stop of the Yayasan Sime Darby Art Festival will take place at the mall on 9 August. This free, community-focused event marks the festival’s 10th anniversary, offering interactive workshops, a dynamic drum circle workshop, live performances, art installations and more – all designed to spark creativity and foster togetherness.

The anniversary celebrations will culminate in a Merdeka Eve spectacular on 30 August, featuring an open-air musical performance by the Selangor Symphony Orchestra, complemented by a dazzling drone and fireworks display. Visitors can also enjoy hot air balloon rides, flying fox challenges, and fun lake activities such as swift boats and orb balls, promising a memorable night for all.

Opened just one year ago, Elmina Lakeside Mall has quickly become the heartbeat of the City of Elmina, serving a catchment of over 870,000 residents. Designed to blend lifestyle and nature, the mall spans more than 400,000 sq. ft. of gross floor area across 52 acres. The mall currently enjoys full occupancy and welcomes an average of 450,000 visitors each month. Its appeal is further enhanced by its seamless connectivity to the sprawling 35-acre Elmina Urban Park and a tranquil lake, reinforcing the mall’s position as a vibrant, community-focused destination within the township.

Since its opening, the mall has also hosted community and cultural events such as the Lakeside Festival in December 2024, which showcased local talents and celebrated togetherness; the Selangor Symphony Orchestra performance in April 2025, which made classical music accessible to all; and the EMPOW-HER SUPERWEEK in May 2025, which empowered women through beauty and wellness workshops, dynamic fitness sessions, and live performances. These initiatives, along with regular fitness classes and family-friendly activities, continue to enrich the lifestyle experience at the City of Elmina.
