Sajian Warisan Bonda Ala Kampung buffet @ Ibis Kuala Lumpur

March 30, 2023 by StrawberrY Gal

Ramadan is a month-long celebration that is observed by Muslims all around the world. It is a time of fasting, prayer, and reflection on one’s faith. In Malaysia, Ramadan is an especially festive time, with bustling bazaars and delicious food aplenty.

This year, the ibis Kuala Lumpur City Centre hotel is celebrating Ramadan in style with their Sajian Warisan Bonda Ala Kampung buffet at the hotel’s Kampung Kitchen restaurant. Strategically located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, just a 5-minute walk from the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, the restaurant offers stunning views and a modern interpretation of a traditional Malaysian village setting.

One of the best things about the buffet is the affordable price of only RM98nett per adult. It’s one of the most affordable Ramadan buffets in Kuala Lumpur city, making it accessible to more people. Despite the low price, the spread is quite impressive with various stations, each offering a unique selection of Malaysian cuisine.

The buffet spread includes Kambing Golek, a slow-roasted lamb that is juicy and tender, Gulai Kawah Daging Pak Munawir, a spicy beef curry with a rich and flavorful broth, and Sup Tulang Kambing Mat Piah, a mutton bone soup that is hearty and comforting. There’s also Laksa Johor, a noodle soup that is sour, spicy, and tangy, and Mee Goreng Mamak Sotong Merah, a popular dish of stir-fried noodles with spicy squid sambal.

Other must-try dishes include Ayam Tomato, a chicken dish cooked in a tangy tomato sauce, Daging Salai Masak Lemak, a smoked beef curry with a creamy coconut milk base, Ketam Kari Dengan Nenas, a crab curry with tangy pineapples, and Udang Masak Sambal, a spicy prawn dish cooked in a fiery chili sauce. Vegetarians will also be happy to know that there’s a good selection of vegetarian options like Masak Lemak Putih Pucuk Manis, a sweet and savory vegetable curry, and Pajeri Terung, a spicy eggplant dish.

One of the standout dishes from the buffet is the Mee Goreng Mamak topped with Sambal Sotong Merah. The dish is rich, flavorful, and spicy, with a hint of sweetness that makes it stand out from other stir-fried noodle dishes. Another highlight is the live pasta station, where diners can pick their choice of pasta and ingredients like chicken ham, sausages, and vegetables, and have it cooked-upon-order by the chef. Do not miss the Aligo Olio, it’s delicious!

For dessert, the buffet offers a variety of sweet treats like Apam Balik, a traditional pancake filled with peanuts and sweetcorn, Jagung Rebus Cheese, a boiled corn on the cob topped with cheese, and Kuih-muih, a selection of sweet and colorful Malaysian cakes. There’s also a corner lined up with traditional snacks, keropok, and biscuits that go well with a cup of coffee, teh tarik, or tea.

In conclusion, the Sajian Warisan Bonda Ala Kampung buffet at Kampung Kitchen is a fantastic option for those looking for an affordable and delicious Ramadan buffet in Kuala Lumpur. The spread is extensive, with a good mix of traditional and modern Malaysian dishes, and the live pasta station and dessert selection add an extra touch of excitement to the dining experience. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, this buffet is a must-try for anyone who loves good food and great value.

The Sajian Warisan Bonda Ala Kampung buffet is available from 23 March to 21 April 2023. For more information, kindly contact +603 2778 3388 or email [email protected].
