First BTS & Seventeen “In The Soop” Pop-up in Malaysia at 1 Utama Shopping Centre (29 April – 28 August 2022)

April 28, 2022 by StrawberrY Gal

The Hallyu fever continues at 1 Utama Shopping Centre! After last year’s exciting success of the BTS POP-UP: MAP OF THE SOUL Showcase held from 8th September to 31st January 2022, the long awaited BTS and SEVENTEEN “IN THE SOOP” POP-UP will next be opening in                 1 Utama from 29th April to 28th August 2022 for 4 months with Malaysia being the 2nd country in Southeast Asia to host it.

This exclusive global store is themed after South Korean reality series “IN THE SOOP” created by HYBE starring the world’s biggest boy band BTS and SEVENTEEN as the superstars take a break from their busy lives in the city to rest and rejuvenate in nature.

Spanning 1,700 sq ft, visitors will be enticed by an urban forest realm as they explore the space and experience the outdoors indoors. Shoppers will ultimately be treated to over 300 limited edition merchandise with new items released every week, and even apparel worn by the idols in the series are available for sale. A free IN THE SOOP Postcard welcome gift will also be given away, whilst stocks last.

In addition, there are two more IG-worthy Photo Zones set up around 1 Utama:

(i) Camp and chill out at a ‘healing forest at the heart of the city’ and meet SOOPY at the IN THE SOOP Campfire site at Ground Floor 1 Utama E

(ii) Capture memorable photos with 3D TinyTAN’s all the way from South Korea at Ground Floor LUXE

“We are grateful to be able to organize yet another pop-up store by HYBE and bring this very exclusive K-pop attraction over to Malaysia. This is in line with our plan and effort of introducing more Korean attractions to our Korean-themed retail zone “District K,” said Danny Chee, 1 Utama’s Business Development Manager. He added that K-pop fans in Malaysia also played a huge role by showing undying support for such K-pop events.

“We recorded more than 50,000 visitors from all over Malaysia including Sabah and Sarawak during the BTS POP-UP: MAP OF THE SOUL Showcase last year despite the impact from the Covid-19 pandemic. The number was still considered encouraging and this actually improved the confidence of our associate in South Korea to continue listing Malaysia as one of the venues for future attractions”.
