A Hotel with a Heart that cares for the communities in times of need.

May 18, 2020 by StrawberrY Gal

Despite the challenging time impacted by Covid-19 pandemic,   Cosmo Hotel Kuala Lumpur, an affiliated hotel of  Dorsett Hospitality International,  has not forgotten their social responsibilities.  With the funds raised from the generous donors via  the Pakej Sedekah Iftar that was launched recently, the team at Cosmo Hotel  Kuala Lumpur have been busy cooking and delivering  Iftar to Hospital Sungai Buloh, Supper to the Institute of Medical Research Kuala Lumpur since 5th of May  as well as to the Rumah Orang Tua/OKU Titian Nur  and many  other needy homes.

This was made possible with the generous contribution by many friends and clients of Cosmo Hotel Kuala Lumpur. A total of 600 Iftar Sedekah packages have been delivered to Hospital Sungai Buloh & 360 supper packs have been sent to the Institute of Medical Research so far and many more will be delivered  daily till all the food pledges are fulfilled. “The food was very delicious and plentiful”, said  Dr Mona Lisa Bt Md Rasip,  Medical Officer of Occupational Safety and Health Unit of Institute Medical Research Kuala Lumpur who also expressed her gratitude for the food sent to the Night Shift Medical Team by Cosmo Hotel KL’s team.

The main objective of the Pakej Sedekah Iftar initiated by Dorsett Grand Subang, Dorsett Putrajaya and Cosmo Hotel Kuala Lumpur was to raised funds to provide Iftar for the less fortunate and the hospitals’ frontliners, who had worked tirelessly day and night with full  dedication to take care of the Covid-19 patients at the hospitals.

“I am truly touched with the great response from many kind donors, who have contributed generously big or small for which I wish to say a big Thank You from the bottom of my heart !  Pakej Sedekah Iftar came about  as we were inspired by the frontliners in the hospitals who have put in immense sacrifices and unwavering efforts in managing the pandemic and beyond during the fasting month. We hope that this small gesture from us  will help to relieve them the trouble  to look for food to break fast and at the same time to enable them  to enjoy Iftar together”, said Datin Jasmine Abdullah Heng, Vice Chairman of Dorsett Hospitality International.

“Helping the needy communities and the under privileged  has always been one of our core values at Dorsett and Cosmo; we are humbled to play a small part during this chalenging time”, added Datin .

General Manager of Cosmo Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Susan Carlos reckons that during  this trying times we need to reach out to those in need. We can all be stronger when we are united and stand together to support each other especially the medical frontliners and the less fortunate.

The Pakej Sedekah Iftar offers a variety of Signature set meals with choice of Nasi Briyani, Nasi Tomato,  Nasi Kukus Kunyit and Nasi Ambeng.  Priced only at RM15 per set , this represents a 50% discount off the hotels’ normal selling price for a set meal  and is the hotels’ contribution towards this meaningful project.

Ramadan is the time for sharing and giving especially to the less fortunate.  We appeal for more donors to come forward to support and purchase the Pakej Sedekah Iftar, so as to help us continue with our efforts to provide food for the needy and the selflessness frontliners working in all government hospitals.  Log on to https://www.dorsettbooking.com/web/ to place your orders/pledges today or call the following hotels:
